Feedback Technical Grievances

The attachments in these posts aren't loading, even after Ctrl+F5:

I thought maybe it was just DDoS related, because I originally wasn't seeing any error message, opening them in a new page was just empty. But other attachments still seem to work, e.g. https://kiwifarms.net/threads/anisa...kane-jomha-anisas-husband.38107/post-16167181

And yeah, I also noticed that the whole site went to shit while I was writing this. But I went back and double checked now that everything seems to be working, and those particular attachments are still broken.

Also getting the problem where profile icons wont load
Also my comment box wont load everything

Whatever you did to fix attachments seems to have fixed my clearnet issues via my isp.
For a bit at least it did.

On Tor browser, over VPN, I just got a weird browser message after seeing the Kiwiflare screen. It warned that user information was going to be sent to the onion URL, and gave me the option to "continue anonymously" or "continue normally". I did normally, and it gave me the page but logged out.

Didn't get a screenshot because I'm a fast-clicking retard, I'll try to reproduce.

If you are using Tor over Clearnet, you will be prompted to use the Onion URL provided in the headers.

P.S. I'm monitoring the situation with the attachments breaking. I'm aware of what it is and I'm trying to stabilize it.

I know, I've been browsing only onion URLs since Friday. The request (a next page click from the Fishtank thread) started from an onion URL, did Kiwiflare, gave me the warning, and continued to the correct onion URL for the page. Everything else on multiple tabs worked fine, it was just that one tab logged me out after the error message, so I closed it.

ETA: Currently opening multiple tabs trying to force Kiwiflare to trigger again, like it normally does when I open too many tabs at once. But it's refusing to view me as a threat; unfortunately, the site is working great.

The only thing that can cause that "not secure" message is either using http:// or browsing an https:// page with http:// content inline with it. I believe I have pretty strict security rules that do not permit that, and almost everything is self-hosted. However, certain programs and browser extensions can include http:// content if they're particularly shitty.
I have received that notification when browsing via Tor on Brave and it almost always seems to have to do with the DDOS killing my connection before HTTPS has been negotiated; a refresh and/or new path fixes it.

Reminder for people, if your address bar shows kiwifarms.net you are accessing over clearnet, EVEN IF you are using Tor to do so. E.g, your connection may be exiting a VPN or Tor but is still hitting Kiwiflare.

Only if it is http://kiwifarmsaaf4t2h7gc3dfc5ojhmqruw2nit3uejrpiagrxeuxiyxcyd.onion are you fully accessing via Tor. It has a Kiwiflare-like thing but it is not the same.
it crashed and auto-recovered. This happens like once a day and I do not know why. It's well within memory limitations.

>A process of this unit has been killed by the OOM killer.
This probably isn't the place for the discussion, but the OOM killer is NOT ONLY called when out of memory, but anytime it cannot service a memory request for any reason, which can include things like not a large enough contiguous space available, not available on this node, memory tied to particular CPUs not available to others, etc.

https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/sysctl/vm.txt may help but further diagnosis would require the exact kernel logs which probably shouldn't be posted on the Internet because it's liable to leak sensitive information.

KiwiFlare is not on Tor. If you see KiwiFlare you are on Clearnet.

I dunno what to tell you boss. I got it when I opened the main tab this morning, twice more before the error, and then on the error page. I'll try and screencap it next time.

this is the onion kiwithing. If you see Kiwiflare, it's because something had a hardcoded kiwifarms.net URL that the forum software didn't automatically correct (I think it tries to) and you went to the clearnet, got kiwiflared, and then brave or tor or whatever immediately redirected it BACK to the onion site.

there is a setting in Tor IIRC that says "stay the fuck off clearnet, I want darkweb only" and you should then get an error when hitting one of those links.

amusingly I can never get past that message above on Brave via Tor for reasons I have never bothered to work out.

edit: oh, it's probably this:

yup, allowing the unsafe script got me in, I'm even more reTORded now.

probably because "onion" sites are technically listed as "not secure" for some reason I can't be arsed to remember.

edit par deux:
Here's a post that didn't do the redirect: /threads/community-driven-happenings-feed-version-2.114933/post-16221489 - when I clicked the cnn-lemon-party link, it sent me to kiwifarms.net on clearnet on Tor instead of going direct to the onion.
