Me personally, I think Hei will die again after absorbing Reina's devil, defeated by Kazuya (who is now cured by Jun's pussy), Jimbo and Reina (that somehow stops being loyal to Hei). How they'll get there and if that happens in the final season of T8 or in T9, or how will future dlcs fit into that, I have no idea.

Hei's motivations are vague rn, he starts as a billionaire asshole in Tekken 1 and 2, a villain in 3 and 4 (his goal is to get ogre's and then devil's power for himself), an asshole again and then he gets the "I'll do anything to destroy the devil gene" unsung hero retcon in T7. In T8 they opted to make him a villain again it seems, as he wants to get the devil's power again, tho it's not fully clear what his "plan" is, still, I doubt it's just to destroy it or for the good of his family since he hates them.
