I suck shit at this game when it comes to online play, but using the replay feature helped a lot so far and it improved my blocking/throw cancelling. The only thing that is really annoying is that the "special" style is available in multiplayer.
>why aren't you using it yourself then?
I actually want to learn to more or less competently play the fucking game, it's been years since I've touched a Tekken game again. It's especially frustrating because you get free EWGFs in a single button press in baby mode, normally it takes a LOT of practice and muscle memory and mastering it requires fucking years of playing this series to get it truly down. I spent some time getting back into the non-electric version and got some EWGFs myself, but I'm thinking about biting the bullet and getting an arcade stick. My Dualsense has served me well over the years, and it shows. The keyboard has amazing input speeds, but it's really AIDS trying to get used to it.

just to make ya feel better: you can pull more ewgf's on your own (about 5 or something idk go watch MainManSWE) instead of one button press (3)

Arcade Stick is the hardest/slowest of all the controllers, especially for Mishimas, I would advise you to get a hitbox instead (as fast as a keyboard + much more comfortable). You can make a pretty cheap hitbox yourself with a simple mdf box, some Sanwa buttons and a raspberry pi board, hell you could even put extra b,d,f buttons on top of the 1,2,3,4 so that you can press db2 with just one hand motion and get super consistent electrics.
If you go for an arcade stick, I would also say go DIY with a deeper box, larger buttons and a good korean lever (they aren't super comfortable at first, but they are faster than japanese levers, almost as fast as buttons even) -- building it yourself also tends to be way cheaper.

raspberry pi board
my brother in christ why would he need a raspberry pi inside an arcade/fighting stick? i don't think my mayflash fighting stick has a mini computer inside it. (idk haven't checked but this seems absurd)

Forgot about adding the pico lmao, it's a raspberry pi pico, about 10 bucks and around 7 ms of latency I think, pretty much the fastest/cheapest board for a pc if you don't mind messing around with a little bit of code. Have in mind that a zero latency dedicated fighting board costs about 100 bucks (tho that one can actually hook up to a ps5).

hoky fuck, i just set up my laptop with Tekken 8 and jesus, it looks bad. the game set it automatically to low everything. I tried to customize it and set the textures and other stuff to high, but it still looks shit. in order to make it look good, you have to set the upscaling to high....

i miss the days when video cards rely on raw rasterization power.

Tekken is quite interesting for someone new to the franchise, but honestly did not have a lot of fun the last couple of days with the game. SF6 has a multitude of issue that are being ignored, but the ranked matchmaking in that game more or less worked for me. Not having the same experience here. Maybe that's all the legacy skills that people have acquired over the years. Going to stop for a bit and return, maybe I'm just burned out already.

no matter which vidya game or fighting game you play, it will feel like it's getting worse over time, feel free to come back anytime, you're a good player.

The game came out very recently, if you're playing ranked you're bound to have some matchups that will wreck your shit (especially on upper red/purple and up currently). Even pro players are saying that it will take some time to the ranks to stabilize. Nonetheless, it could be a valuable training exercise. Use the replay feature for every fight (even if you win), you will thank yourself later.

Yeah, I probably need to utilize the replay feature and other resources since I am not making any progress.

ok, so I was playing on the lowest settings on my laptop because I have a shit laptop (GTX 3050 4gb)

so I was disgusted by the jagginess of the Lili's hair and can't take it anymore. So, I tried to max out the settings to see if there's a galaxy wide difference that will make me shell out for a gtx 4080 laptop.

and.... the hair just looks less jaggy? and the dress looks more shiny? the stages and effects look pretty much the same and still getting the same fps (60 fps is fine, leave me alone!!) what the fuck does these fucking settings do anyway?

Yeah, only Kazuya looks good in the menu, but everything just looks like Tekken 7 but with better 3d character models, because Tekken 7 has butt ugly faces

So we have a full blown kiwi farms Tekken group on steam now, Just drop your steam id to join even if you play on ps5 we can add you in game.
Not exactly sure if that seems like the best idea. For the record, would setting up a new account and plugging it to the main one via Family Library Sharing work "anonymously" enough, or would that connection be possible to track down somehow?
