I bought Tekken 8 a few days ago and been playing without looking up anything regarding the game and ngl it makes me really enjoy the game since I played the shittest fighting game of all time last year (mortal kombat 1).
As someone who has been playing the Tekken series as a kid and is now a 30 year old man, I feel like my $70 dollars was worth it. Don't care about any of the DLC characters atm since my favorite mom (Jun) came back.
A college buddy and our online friend are gonna start doing matches in the next couple weeks and I'm hyped.
 
In order to learn more shit for the game, I watch other people play the game too. Then I got recommended this video, shitposters already reign supreme and make Twitchfags seethe. Customization is always a good feature in a game, especially if it is popular. :story:
 
Going to switch characters. Jack-8 is cool, but I think my mistake was to think I could just translate how I play from GGST and SF6 to Tekken. Probably why I had a bad time so far. Going to try a couple of different characters, but right now I am eyeing Asuka and Nina.
 
PSA: If the Tekken Shop is Live Service faggotry, and you give Harada your shekels for old costumes or customization pieces you're a cuck and probably a consoomer faggot. You also have no right to whine about the state of video games if you buy anything from the Tekken shop with real money (I mean, you're already a cuck and a consoomer faggot by buying the Season Passes and getting disc-locked characters like Eddy, AK, and Roger).

Maybe I'm wrong about the Tekken Shop, but this is Bamco we're talking about. I expect slimy monetization and live service faggotry from Harada, and I expect the fgc to defend him again.

I am not necessarily opposed to DLC, but you are also right. The season pass characters should have been in the base roster, just like in SF6. Remember last year's EVO and Vicious being on stage and telling the people that they should be thankful for gracious Capcom bestowing shitty monetization in SF6 to the masses. And everyone clapped to the Ninja Turtles stuff, only to find out how ridiculously expansive that shit was. And it was only for the fighting hub. But people love to spend money on this stuff, so I don't expect it to go away anytime soon.
 
Eddy was talked about today in the Tekken Talk and is about to the playable very soon. Hope you'll like shelling out 40 dollars to recieve the S1 characters, goyim.

Just pick a Mishima-style character, get assraped and watch tutorial videos about fundamentals until you learn the game properly. Punishes (more in-depth than the tutorial), frame traps, commitments and sidestepping are vital to this game. I struggle with it applying it to True and Honest ranked combat, but we're all gonna make it. Unless you're a bitch and plug if you get your shit wrecked.

The season pass plus all of the costumes and customizations will almost hit the game's current retail price (and the costumes don't even look good for the most part). I can't even imagine buying the characters without the pass. It's disgusting.

About the pluggers: Tekken xitter is currently chimping out at Harada/the dev team. To be honest, it's completely justified. I mostly rematch, even if I get my shit rocked to dumb moves, but a one and gone should also be punished by an added second loss.
