Just kidding, but personally I want to get EGWF on a pad consistently first before I move on to using a hitbox/KB. Not going to get an arcade stick, it's too expensive and getting used to it seems to be a waste of time.

I learned it the hard way, punishes and frame data goes a long way. Practicing low parries are my current lesson, but it will take some time to get it down, especially since this game has at least 31+ other characters.

Learning a new controller is the exciting part, but the noise and movements just make me feel awkward. Compare that to sitting with your hands flat on a piece of acrylic and at worst hearing keyboard taps. Oh, fucked up a quarter circle? Didn't hit the buttons right. No "uhh maybe the other gate is better" and going down a rabbit hole of which to use and shit, just. Press buttons. Guess we'll see, it's easy to swap buttons and clickity on the stick but even just ordering these parts is near impossible in Europe. It was bad enough getting sanwas from an arcade store.

But yeah it's my primary issue as well, failing to rank up. It's the "seeing a game through the eyes of your main" that appeals to me, having some kind of sub-community within a community, but compare that to other, more chill games. A main weapon in monster hunter or class in an mmorpg. I've just felt the draw to fighting games for so fucking long and I saw a streamer go to gold in SF6 with a controller of all things. Ironically, he bought a $300 stick and never used it or streamed SF6 again. His whole thing is GOOASS TEKKEN yet hasn't streamed it once. So yeah, the average fightan experience.
 
Haute T16 update, cause I can't edit? Holy shit. I'm rather devoid of gaming energy these days but if I were to be super inspired for fighting, it'd be now. Consistent execution, great buttons, clicky but not embarrassing levels of noisy. No "uhh maybe 4 gate is better for-". Just, hit buttons, do shit. Can 100% recommend. Fuck Hitbox and financial gating of leverless, definitely worth a go.
 
Fought an emperor lee earlier and trounced him because I was somehow able to float the guy almost every time he did a flip. Like… how the fuck did you get this far?

im fucking terrible at fighting games and holy shit when i saw this list i shat a brick. I had no idea people considered Jun a fraudulent carried character. I got the game on Feb 20th and ive practiced a bit.
 
It's crazy coming back to this thread once in a while and see how active Tekken 8 is, compared to MK1 and SF6 which are more or less droning on. Granted, it's also the big new game currently so maybe that's why.

It's starting to lose players on Steam thanks to pluggers and the Cash Shop. The skill hike when you reach certain ranks and the balance contributed to the decrease too. It'll still have more people at Evo than Woke Kombat 1.
 
Curious to see if the next patch is going to address some issues. Even if the game is frustrating, I wanted to continue playing it.
 


Harada and Murray are burning every ounce of goodwill with Tekken's playerbase by banning modders and possibly preventing any mods to be used in future updates (cheaters will still find a way to do something like enlarging items). All this stuff about needing the law to stop pluggers and cheaters was bullshit because they sure went out of the way to threaten modders who just made CK Sports Bras for Jun and Nina (by the way, one of the more famous modders that's losing his channel bought shit from the Cash Shop). This was all about protecting the Cash Shop and disc-locked content purchases, and it's also to stop modders from making better stuff. Cheaters and pluggers are still rampant, as LowtierGod openly admitted he has multiple account after his first ban, and as long as the Cash Shop will fund Harada's next Lambo or Murray's next tranny hooker they're not going to touch the pluggers and they'll keep fucking with modders who just want to make skins and CK Sports Bras. It's safe to say the Tekken honeymoon is dead thanks to the shitty balance, rampant pluggers, and Harada giving everybody who isn't a kiss-ass shill the finger.

Of course Tekken Pro players and the usual FGC shills are defending Bamco, Harada, and Murray like MainMan and the usual suspects (Wong, Max) because they don't want to lose their "esports careers." MainMan is apparently one of the biggest Tekken shills from what I'm hearing. Aris is also shilling and defending Bamco, but he's always been Bamco's bitch.

Both characters are very hated right now, I don't blame other people for it. Jun's heat smash and Alisa's chip damage are overtuned as fuck at the moment.

It's a shitty move and pretty retarded. If they are so afraid of pluggers and cheaters starting lolsuits, they should update their fucking TOS. People are getting banned for way less in other games (notably >muh hate speech). But banning modders for customizing their game client-side is fucking stupid. Or are you telling me they still didn't fix the ranks being tied to player's savegames?
Speaking of MainMan, he almost is on the edge of lolcowdom himself. Especially since he played against LTG, praised(?) him and asks his jannies to sweep it up regularly now. I personally think it's a more-or-less tongue-in-cheek joke, but swedish autism is hard to decipher. To be fair to King Plug, he does have fundamentals. But that goes out of the window, if he mains the most scrubbiest, mash-friendly character in the entire game (just take a guess which character it is). It won't be long until he regularly plugs again and uses another burner account on his PS5. Unless Bamco cuts the bullshit out, shows some balls and bans his console from online play.

I'm just taking a little break before I touch this game again. I recently finished MGS1+2 and am going to continue the series for now.

It's more about protecting the Cash Shop and disc-locked content than these bullshit lolsuits. They'll do anything to protect the monetization because they know modders will do a better job with the models and skins than their hacks. We can't have a modder make better Baki-inspired customizations for a character like Feng, Goyim. Think of Harada's poor Lambo or Mike's need to fuck trannies with the extra dollars they get from those $5 coin purchases (Reminder when you buy 400 coins for $5, you're donating an extra buck to Harada's lambo cause just to buy 1 fucking skin). Speaking of hate speech banning, Harada's bending the knee to the fags who reee about seeing troll names like "ProudTransphobe" never mind these fucks hardly play ranked mode or support Tekken.

That quote was a sarcastic statement, but I guess I overdid it (not sorry). It just sucks to see your favorite thing turn to shit because the guy who is running the series is a total putz. I wanted to get 8 while upgrading my PC because it looked promising, but my gut instinct told me no when I found out about the leaked disc-locked content. Maybe if Harada pulls his head out of his ass (Not happening. This is Harada and Bamco we're talking about.) or it's Goyim-Edition is on sale in 5+ years I'll grab it (Unless they add some gay guest character like Noctis in 7). Maybe I was stupid to be "invested" in 8 after seeing the shit show that was Tekken 7.
