If it makes you feel any better no Paki players got to the finals of EWC. Just two Asian nerds playing honest characters.

They are extremely lucky that Bryan is busted because he's one of the few characters people want to watch. I guess because his strengths are the same as they always were, they just got rid of most of his weaknesses. Much better than the absolutely stupid strengths a character like Anna has.
>for Asuka's neck area, making a large correction all at once would cause significant breakdowns
........... so then fix them. That's what people pay you to do!

All I'm getting out of this is "we don't want to because it's too hard, and we're lazy fucks that don't want to go through our shit code to correct it"
The only justification I can see is if they want to do everything with S3 to try and do a "revival" type update. Especially since most wrote off the season outside Armor King, who I imagine is going to reflect Reina (cool animations, well-liked character, ass gameplay due to their stance obsession). Although AK will probably reflect his old self at least a bit more than Heihachi at least.

I do think the stances could at least somewhat work if they weren't all so similar. There's only 2 that really feel unique, which is Alisa's chainsaws and Yoshi's no sword stance.

Here’s the only thing I’ve heard about Bryan: if you’re at the wall, you’re at Bryan’s mercy.

but do she got a neck now
debatable

To elaborate on T8 Bryan:
  • At the wall, Bryan has taunt set-ups. This allows for unblockable launchers (which are tough to pull off) or taunt heatsmash which of course wall splats (which is much easier).
  • Bryan has high damage, admittedly part of his identity from previous games as far as I know. Pretty common to get over 100 damage, especially if he gets wall.
  • Bryan has some great CH launchers, such as F3, B1, 3+4, etc.
  • Bryan has always had pretty great wall carry.
  • Bryan has one of the best 14f punishes in Jet-Upper, a regular launch.
  • T8 gave Bryan qcb1, a +5 ob 13f high CH launcher. Often dubbed "Bryan's Electric."
  • Also has qcf1+2 for a mid safe heat engager in case you start getting wary of qcb1.
  • Has great lows, from d4 to qcb3 (though snake edge is a complete meme in this game).
  • Minor, but he has sideswapping throws even on break so getting him to the wall can often turn sour.
  • Has good tools that track to his weak side, such as df1, a super delayable string that is technically punishable but the mindgames often prevent that.
  • Heatsmash is great, floor break, low crush, plenty damage, +9 on block.
  • Heat overall great because he has an install and heat grants infinite install.
  • Install is quite good, giving a pretty good string in 21232, extra dmg on UF2, with S2 a FC low (of course)
  • They buffed his 12f punish so now he gets QCB pressure afterwards
  • All this for the low cost of no 15f df2 launcher
But at least he still needs to fish for CHs , doesn't get stance pressure on block, doesn't even have stances (has a crouch dash and sway), and has some powerful things that at least require some execution like taunt set-ups. Decent fun, and not awful to fight besides being overtuned.

Tekken 8 fixes female character's bodies/figures & makes their boobs bigger! :story:

Harada mentions the changes/corrections made to the characters and the reasons for doing so, mentions a reference GIF animation for comparison, and specifically mentions changes made to parts of Asuka's figure.

Translation of Harada's Twitter/X message.
"Supplementary Notes on the V2.05 Update (Refer to Image)

We have corrected the issue where the bust parameters for some characters were reflecting the same values, and made adjustments to align with each character's original characteristics.

In the reference comparison GIF animation image, the comparison is at a fixed angle, so it might be a bit hard to discern, but when viewed in the actual 3D space in the game, it appears to have a different impression compared to the previous version.

Additionally, for Asuka's neck area, making a large correction all at once would cause significant breakdowns including in customization, so for the time being, we have limited adjustments to fine-tuning the shoulders, upper arms, and neck."

These models still look like shit though.

Like the PS2 games had better models than these.

Has anyone been playing the game for the last couple of weeks and can tell me about the current state of the game ? S2 was a massive fuck up, and I know a lot of things got changed or reverted. I've been itching to get back since I can't deal with SF6 now until maybe the Viper patch will address something's, hopefully. Just not sure if it's ok, or I would just be trading one shit for another.

I think the story was that he went to a gym, and they recommended it as a supplement or something. I think they tested him for a tourney is how it was found out.

I'd say for the most part it feels like S1, minus certain characters feeling awful to play against. Certain moves added to S2 got gutted, like Kaz's UF1 or Zafina's b1+2 is now linear (despite the animation), but others like Hwo's homing low still exist. I'd say at least 1/4 of the cast if not more are awful to fight against but the rest aren't too bad. It still has a decent way to go though.

Did they improve sidestepping and its defensive properties with the subsequent patches ? The thing that was initially the supposed selling point of S2. What about Heat ? I think they changed its consumption for certain things.

As for character balance, the 1/4 actually awful or just pretty annoying to fight against ? Dargunov got nerfed I think, not sure about Clive or Anna.

But if it's sort of like S1, I might just reinstall it. Still need to figure out a character that I really want to play.

Heat burst is steppable now, and I think they maybe lessened heatsmash tracking, especially on whiff. Heat has had some small adjustments but nothing too notable from memory. Heat engage is +9 now rather than +18 or whatever, so its not completely "do anything" anymore. Hit boxes are a little bit better, so you won't get as many clips of getting hit while behind your opponent.

Character balance, balance-wise is great, with IMO every character being viable. So the 1/4 are just annoying. I think the worst I hear is that people don't play Paul because Bryan does most of what Paul wants to do better. Drag is still strong, but definitely weaker. Clive and Anna haven't been changed much, though I won't be surprised if Anna gets gutted next balance patch because she is so unpopular. Hopefully sooner rather than later, but maybe they'll keep her busted for the Pakis.

It got disclosed at some point a few months ago that his winnings and title from one of those gay little middle eastern events because he pissed hot.

It’s… playable. They’ve pulled some of the stupid shit back from the start of Season 2 but it’s still a complete mess.

Did all the combo trials for Lidia and went through a good chunk of her move list. So It's either going to be her or I try Nina again. Figuring out which character to play in Tekken is a major hurdle for me.

bro just hit the random button until you found your actual main. you are skilled enough with nina, so anna might be your next try haha.

Bit of a gap gameplay wise, but a bit of variety can't hurt. Just trying her out in ranked/quick match should at least give you an idea of what you are working with and whether she's fun or not, but if you want a little extra:
Tekken Docs has a decent guide which gives you an idea of her important moves and punishes.
For combos, if you are curious or just like trying them, Ryzing Sol is a pretty good source for combos. Here's Lidia specifically.

Technically Anna bridges the gap, having a bit of Nina's gameplay with some stances mixed in, but I can't exactly recommend buying DLC for the game until Bamco gets off its ass. Also might invoke a bit of your muscle memory since they are so close, which could screw you up.
