I don't agree with him in general but he's not wrong to say the feminist movement was always led by privileged middle and upper class women. History makes a big deal of radical and liberal first wave icons like Anthony and Goldman but the bulk of the first wave movement was largely made up of conservative upper-class pro-war women pushing for suffrage so they could vote in austerity laws. History likes to claim the Radium and Matchstick Girls as early feminist movements, but they were just regular labor rights campaigners from female-dominated industries, because being female is obviously far far less of a problem than having the phossy jaw.

That said, there also wasn't a decade of "mission accomplished" in the 50s, it was just a period of post-war economic growth and development that people look back on with a particularly rose-tinted memory. There were still a lot of important legal rights women lagged behind in then, and in the United States it was the uppity 1960's university-educated second wavers that won women the right to equal pay, equal access to education, the right to no-fault divorce, equal protections from employment discrimination, a nationwide end to coveture, the federally-protected right to use contraceptives, and the illegalisation of marital rape. I don't think any of these were problems they just pulled out of their asses.

Most interestingly they share a perspective that biology itself is an oppressor.
