Terminator: Dark Fate - Cause we need another one of these apparently.

BEHEAD THOSE THAT MAKE SHITTY TERMINATOR SEQUELS!!!

IIRC 3 was a pretty decent ending to the franchise, where everything just happened anyway even though they tried to stop Skynet.

That shit was terrible. The entire movie tried to ape T2 unsuccessfully and was completely unnecessary. As far as I am concerned there are only two Terminator movies and Terminator 2 is the most awesome love story/action film ever made. You get to see a cyborg from the future form a loving bond with a young Edward Furlong in between blowing shit up and maiming people.

P.S. The people voting this post autistic are a bunch of slack jawed faggots.

Whatever happened to giving an IP a dignified death?

Also, didn't Sarah Connor definitely die?
Something something branching timelines. No really, the timeline has changed like four times in the franchise before now (in the movie part of it alone).

Saying she died between 2 and 3 wasn't even a conscious choice. Linda Hamilton just thought the script sucked so she passed, and the role she would have had would be very reduced so they just cut it and said cancer or whatever.

I'm pretty sure 3 was intended to be the death blow to the franchise, by ending any and all plot threads with "HUR DUR JOHN'S A BITCH & HUMANITY IS EFFED". That would make Salvation a brain-dead flick on life support, and Genisys & this new one "zombie" flicks.

Terminator: Rise of the Wamen.

This looks like absolute dogshit.

I really thought that was Brie Larson--that expressionless titless asslessness just made me think Brie.
You know what the worst part of this shit is?

This is going to make money and it will make them make another Alien movie with Weaver. It will be woke and it will be terrible.
Oh FFS. Spare us a truck load of strong inderpendant wamenz.
Have sex

Terminator 1 is better than Terminator 2
Allow me to agree twice.
The atmosphere of sheer terror from T1 just wasn't replicated in the franchise altogether. Sure, the T1000 is scary and cool, but atmosphere in T1 was built by everyone being terrified of it. Kyle Reese states outright that he can at best delay the killer robot, his plan is to run and hide, half of his dialogue reinforces that. T2 is a fantastic action movie, but T1 gave me goosebumps and made me actually care about the characters.

I see that Josh Friedman is in the credits so maybe it won't be shit. I just wish he could've continued Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

That's the only thing to give me any kind of interest in this.

The Sarah Conner Chronicles isn't as good as the first two movies, but it's the closest anything had come, and even then the second season is kind of a mess do to FOX fuckery. It is however the only one that depicts John Conner as anything special. In T2 he's just too young, not going to hold it against him, but all the others he's only good at not getting killed by robots.

James Cameron's best movies were taking a horror movie, and expanding it. Alien and Terminator were both great essentially monster horror movies. Most of the time, Hollywood is just going to attempt to make the same movie until it's dead. So it's not quite apples to oranges, not it's more like tangerines to oranges. I personally like T2 more, but I enjoy “monster” movies where the protagonist are able to put up more of a fight.

I have a personal rule that whenever a game, TV show or, in this case, movie has a trailer which features what I call the Depressed Piano Cover, it gets an automatic pass. Especially in this case.

The Terminator has one of the most bitching theme songs ever and you decide to grace your action-packed trailer, complete with metamorphing robots, grenade launchers, and hi-speed hijinks, with music to pop Xanax to? Piss off.

As everyone has mentioned already, ever since the third Terminator movie, the franchise has been on a steady decline in popularity. And it hurts to say that because the Terminator is my favorite movie franchise. The two main issues is that the Terminator relied on Cold War politics to help sell Skynet becoming self-aware and annihilating humanity through nuclear hellfire; the other involves the same plot where John or Sarah Connor learn they're the targeted by Skynet for assassination so they'll have to do anything in order to survive. Unfortunately It looks like Terminator: Dark Fate will not be too different.

However, it does look like a fun action movie in my opinion. And I hope they'll surprise me and make a Terminator movie everyone from Hollywood to their grandma raves about to the cows come home!

Good Lord... I'm a HUGE Terminator sperg and the gurl power crap doesn't sit well with me. Where the hell is John Connor? WTF, has judgement day been pushed back again? I thought the tough grrrl thing with Emilia Clarke was lame, this, I dunno. I'll probably see it anyway though bacause sperg.

I thought about a new Terminator just today and here comes another one. I'm magic. But of course, my ideas were much better.

I do like the idea of making the new Terminator an 800 that can wear a 1000 that can also act on it's own.
Also Linda Hamilton coming out with the shotgun with the drum magazine was dope.

I'm not exactly sure what the hell this new terminator girl is supposed to be. I was hoping we'd see her endoskeleton and it'd be like Cameron from the TV show. It looks like based on dialogue she might be a cyborg reminiscent of Marcus Wright from Salvation, just not anything resembling an 800 and far more human than he was.

I gotta say, I'm kinda disappointed with her because if they had just made her, I dunno, an 800 or hell even an 850 it'd seem less special. I don't watch Terminator movies to watch some chick with superpowers because nanomachines son, I wanted to see another infiltrator model that went self aware and gave Skynet the middle finger or something in a similar vein.

After rewatching the trailer at bits where we can see damage, it kinda looks like she's an endo but she's got some sort of metal muscle under her skin or something like that. There isn't enough damage shown in the trailer to really be able to be sure.

I'm not against it as I thought I would be, but I'm still not entirely on board just yet.

Edit: Apparently she's a hybrid, so it is a cyborg thing but more akin to something like Deus Ex (This nano Augs that is.)
Which is stupid. Why couldn't they have just made her a fucking endo?
Wasn’t the first Terminator technically a cyborg because he had an exocovering of flesh and blood?
Isn’t that also why he was able to be sent back in time as they can only send back organic material?

But then how did T1000 get sent back? This lore is fucked.

I'll give Salvation credit for at least moving the story forward. No more time traveling robots trying to kill somebody. We have moved into a world where Skynet took over and John Connor is the emerging leader he was always supposed to be.

This constant recycling of the time traveling robot plot has gotten old super fast and I get less and less interested every time I see it done in this franchise.

OK sure, this one got Hamilton back. Good for them, and I love her and everything, but everyone else looks like they are sleepwalking through this, and that actor playing the bad Terminator looks bored out of his mind.
