Terminator: Dark Fate - Cause we need another one of these apparently.

Skynet is replaced by Leigon
Y'know, they just added the Terminator as a character to Mortal Kombat 11, and some of his intro dialogues mention Legion, and my first thought was, "What the hell is Legion? Is it something from the post T2 movies that I've never seen?"

Interesting to know that it's from the upcoming movie that no one will care about a year from now.

I want to hope that a good Terminator movie could come out of this , but the more I hear about it (including these screening reviews), the more I fear that John Connor is getting kicked to the kerb - dead or alive - in favour of Random Guurrrrl being the focal point of the series's future. If that's the case then fuck it; pretending that John's no longer relevant undermines the previous movies, and would further beg the question as to why the machines would go to so much effort going back in time to kill one guy if he can be so easily replaced.

Skynet pushing back the date of Judgment Day so that John Connor essentially misses his moment is an interesting concept if they want to play it that way. Let's be real: 50 year old shoe salesman John Connor isn't leading any resistance. At some point, it should become evident to John and Sarah that if they want to fight the machines in perpetuity, then they'll need to find someone capable of assuming John's role if he ends up being too old to lead the resistance himself.

You might as well send out the talking points memo for people writing articles blaming the disappointing US box office on 'misogynists' right now.

The studio better hope it doesn't get banned in China where people don't know/care about the whole woke Hollywood vs Gamergate misogynist fans bun fight and just want to see some dumb action.

Skynet is programming Bugmen now.

I must've read the Reddit thread (unless there was more than one) before some kind of purge, because it seemed like even the people who were trying to be complimentary towards it said it was "not great" at best. I thought it must have been bad considering it was people admitting they were surprised with a "special treat" and still couldn't be bothered to at least pretend it was any good.

The Rotten Tomatoes score has already dropped to below 60%, though I feel like the critics consensus was written with the expectation that it'd stay around 70%.
Terminator: Dark Fate represents a significant upgrade over its immediate predecessors, even if it lacks the thrilling firepower of the franchise's best installments.

Glimpsed at what was supposed to be a "spoiler-free" review, and it talks about the Mexikid and Human Hybrid, saying it hopes that their relationship is explored in later films.

So...they live? Seems like a bit of a major spoiler.

Though I was hoping the hybrid would snuff it.

Everyone was hoping but tell me how many heroic sacrifices you have seen where a woman did it (not saying there arent but its clearly is a male dominated trope). Kyle Reese sacrificed life itself to destroy the Terminator and protect the woman he went through time to declare his love towards. Im pretty sure Carl will be the one to kick the bucket...even if its that THIRD FUCKING TIME that Arnold did the whole T-800 sacrificing itself in this fucking franchise.
God damn it! This movie doesnt DO A SINGLE THING RIGHT! *Cans.avi*

Gave up and read some of the early reviews that have been released ahead of the surprise screening and:

They unceremoniously kill John Connor in the first 5 minutes, just as the story leaks indicated.

Fucking dropped. I mean I love you Linda, but you can't make me like Alien 3: Terminator Edition.
