Terrible ocs

I reckon I'm the odd man for OCs out given my autism went down the Megaman path rather than Sanic or FNAF. I made several robot master designs way back when both in doodle form and in sprite form, to... mixed level of quality. For comedy value, I'll just dump them on here:

As for the worst OC I've ever seen... had to be Benito's Gundam fanfic he tried foisting for his English Final Project I've dumped on here at least once or twice (just search Benito in Personal Lolcows, you'll find him. To give you an idea, he would not only insert himself but anyone close to him into his story without asking for it.

Some of the worst OCs are self inserts that only exist to have lots of sex with every available hottie in the series. I remember one that was Final Fantasy 7 where the self insert asks some character if he minded that she was fat.

When you need validation from a fictional character you know you've reached rock bottom.

Even worse is when a self insert OC gets pregnant with the baby of her husbando. The babby is often absolutely perfect and has inherited all the super powers, or if a normal human, all the best traits and is a genius before they can even have solid food.

A lot of canon characters in fanfiction are basically just OCs stuffed into the shell of canon character anyway. At least with terrible OCs the author is being transparent about it.

Sonic OCs probably win in the realm of total lack of creativity though. Palette Swap the Hedgehog is as boring as it gets. Sonic Forces lets you create your own avatar. The autism must be spectacular.

Warning, slight :powerlevel: ahead.

When I was thirteen, I would make shitty bishonen anime-inspired OC's for The Godfather and The Sopranos of all things. I was obsessed with all things Mafia-related back then and played The Godfather video game on Playstation 2 to a near autistic degree (the fact that said PS2 game lets you create your own player character probably didn't help).

In retrospect it was extremely cringe-inducing and hilariously autistic of me to do so.

But hey, I was just a kid so no harm no foul I suppose. I'm just thankful that I didn't know how to upload shit to Fanfiction.net back then and that I also grew out of that phase.

Of course, if you're just writing fanfiction for fun and you recognize the fact that it's just for fun and nothing more than a really spergy hobby that you shouldn't take seriously, then I don't see the harm, especially if you're young. Make all the OC's and self-inserts you want for all I care, just as long as you keep things in perspective.

It's the hardcore spergs who take this shit way too seriously that bother me.

Those types of ocs are the ones I really can't stand either. Most of them are like 10 year olds who are supposedly in a relationship with a 18+ canon character or the other way around where the self insert is like 29 something and the girls are all in their early teens. It gets to the point where the fanfic gets downright creepy and bad.

I also can't stand for recolored ocs where they take a design of a canon character and paint them over with weird ass colors like if they just came out of Smash Bros.

I don't care about people making OCs and making fanfic but at least be original when it comes to making a fan character to bring into the fandom.

Pretty much every fandom has one or two popular oc creators that make high glossed mary sue self inserts that get paired up with any hot (or perceived hot by the fandom) male characters.
Jaxxylupei.deviantart.com is one of them
25 years old, still draws not one, but two versions of herself fucking and getting impregnated by a 14 year old cartoon boy. She's been doing it for around 10 years.

This is what she actually looks like (not sure if this is allowed, tell me if it's considered doxxing):

The whole Danny Phantom fandom is mary sue half ghost self inserts that fuck Danny, some weird boner for a nameless side character that appear in one background scene in one episode that they named Wes, trans!Danny/trans!Sam, tumblr styled art making the characters better (uglier) and every other shitty tumblr trope you can think of. It's a cesspool, but what else is new.

Wait, that's a thing?!
I mean, there's nothing wrong, unless the design is too complex, or eye-searing in my eyes.

Didn't a Danny phantom sue named Randy Stair try to shoot up a local grocery store like last year?

Anyone else remember those marysue communities on Livejournal? I remember reading about a Danny Phantom sue that converted Danny and the whole high school into Christanity or something like that on the DP one.

Most of my fanfic OCs tend to be the kids of canon characters. I'm a sucker for kidfic, so go figure. But most of my OCs are for my own original content that I've never really shared online. One I made when I was eight was a straight up clone of Archie Andrews down to his name being Andrew.[/QUOTE]

Is it wrong that I make OC's for historical scenarios? I actually came up with ideas for OC's who were young soldiers in the American Civil War, partly because I'm fascinated by the Civil War as a historical event and partly to make fun of the OC communities within various fandoms.

I mean, I know it's strange and spergy but I don't see it as any different than designing characters for a role-playing game. Historical reenactors generally do something similar to this, unless they are playing a specific figure from history (like Ulysses S. Grant or Robert E. Lee, for example).

Plus, I'm doing this with a sense of self-awareness and irony, so I guess it's not all bad.

There was a place I used to go to that had a lot of cringy sparklecatdogwolf Warrior Cat OCs. The other kids were making babby's first fursonas and some of the slightly more aware ones were trying to distinguish themselves from crazy sex furries by calling theirs "anthros" or someshit.

They allowed anyone to join and, as long as you didn't directly attack other users, anything goes. I had friends who watched the place like a mini KF with me because of some personal lolcows, but we were also just as young and dumb so we made joke characters to fuck with them. People who came wanting to roleplay their intricate sparkle soap operas were derailed by shit like a dindu gorilla, a gun-obsessed communist bear and chain smoking nazi croc. The aim was to out-edge the edgelords and generally upset everyone while avoiding a ban, which we mostly got away with because it was all IC and outside of that we stayed well-spoken. We even ended up 'converting' people to our wannabe troll brigade but things slowed and stopped because the horseshoe theory rose up and we realised we were just another group of animals, just with less hair dye and more dakka.

On the plus side, their OCs were genuinely as shit as the things that turn up on KF, and after getting trolled a lot of them tried to improve their characters/stopped being furries, but lol I'm sure ours were just as bad for being edgy on purpose and made to ween.

These two could be candidates...especially the one on the left

I've had my fair share of shitty ocs, most of which were mary-sues.

When I was in my Teen Titan fangirl times, I had an oc.
She was the ultimate mary-sue, like bihtch- she was in a relationship w robin, and was perfect, she even was a neko.

While my MLP phase of grade 4-6, I had another bad oc, she was an alicorn, was friends with.. err every'pony', and her name had something to do with love, I don't remember.
Her power was love, if she saw a couple fighting she'd use her magic to make them stop fighting.

I had an Oc named Yummi, ( pronounced you-me ) she was a Neko, pink hair, a teal color dress that had sleeves that were really long and covered her hands, she also wore white thigh high socks. She lived in Nekotopia, and she wanted to go to earth to meet humans.

I created an OC a couple of years back. I made a degu OC. I made a early prototype of it and it never got anywhere. I lacked the skill or time to make a webcomic and the fact I had an OC with nothing special about it sorta frustrated me. I eventually forgot the original prototype picture, but when I started making my Sonichu fan comic I was looking for new characters to include. Then I stumbled on the old prototype drawing (covered with lots of dust and water damage.) I had a eureka moment there and I decided to use that degu OC design.

Sometimes some ideas can sit on the back burner and terrible ideas could eventually find their usefulness at some point.

This oc isn't mine but one who a friend of mine showed me years ago they found on the newest tab on DeviantArt and I saved it because it was just that horrifically bad.

Keep in mind this is supposed to be a My Little Pony OC

I used to write these terrible fanfic crossovers with a robot OC named Retronaut. My username even comes from another OC I made named Crichax who existed in the same world as Retronaut. Crichax was kind of this golden misty spirit mentor who helped Retronaut. Looking back at my OC now, there is some potential in him. Even in the stories he was in, he lost battles, had angst, and he wasn't perfect. He may have been bland, but at least he wasn't ridiculously OP.

EDIT: I made this design for Retronaut by mashing together several public domain clipart images.
