Islam vs Arab Culture
Not going to split hairs too much with this, but do consider that the most populous Muslim county is actually Indonesia. A lot of people conflate Arab Culture (Which is pretty indefensible) with Islam itself, but guys like the late Muhammad Ali have nothing to do with this sort of crap. For that matter, Iranians and Bosnians/Albanians generally have little to do with terrorism.

And once again, it looks an unhinged lunatic has managed to get his hands on a bunch of guns. This country can't go more than 100 days without a mass shooting. I'm all ears to listen to some kind of legal shift to stop crazies from buying guns, but this isn't normal and something has got to change. Why the heck can't we have some kind of universal background check for gun ownership? Or even just let states decide what kind of guns can be legal in their borders, so that Texas can have assault rifles and Connecticut can ban anything?

I'm tired of a bunch of people saying things about how terrible this all is and then absolutely zero is done to stop it from happening again.

IMO some down and out assclown with a history of abusive/mental issues using 'God told me to do it' as an excuse for murdering lots of people is a sadly common tale.

True. The "lone wolf" theory seems to be the most likely right now. I believe that if there is any involvement from extremist groups it would only go as far as radicalization or mild funding.

California bans many, many kinds of guns. Their laws are some of the most restrictive in the country. Connecticut's laws became much, much more stricter after what happened at Sandy Hook.

Mass murders still happen in California, and every other state in the union, sometimes with guns legally purchased there, sometimes with guns illegally purchased in the state, sometimes with guns legally purchased out of state. California and Connecticut already have "universal background checks," i.e. you cannot purchase a gun without going to a store and undergoing a background check.

As a Muslim myself, I despise Daesh with all my heart. Any Wahhabist supporter as well I absolutely abhor. This is a horrible tragedy, and I send my regards to those who have been affected and their families and friends.
