Terrorists Attack Texas "Draw Mohammed" Event

So... This happened.

Basically, two murderous idiots decided to prove their enemies right.

I don't like Pamela Geller, but she definitely proved herself to be an incredible troll.

ISIS Claims Credit, unsurprisingly. Of course, if Geller gets her way and the US opens up internment camps, what does ISIS care? Proper Muslims shouldn't leave the Middle East!

Whats even better about this is the fact the cop who killed them was massively fucked in terms of fire power and armor. He had a standard issue glock while the other two had assault rifles and body armor that by all means should have stopped a bullet from the cop's handgun.

They didn't actually have 'assault rifles' like the media keeps saying. They had Kel-Tec Sub 2000s, a 9mm carbine.

I'm assuming the cop was also wearing Level 3A body armor that's usually standard issue, which can stop most handgun rounds. Was still 2v1 though.

I love living in Texas. No messing around. If there's trouble, bang, it's over.

Dudes showed up with carbines blasting off? No big deal. Pow-pow. Two dead extremists.

Don't mess with Texas.

Seems like they were prepared pretty well though, given that all they ended up with was one minor injury and two dead terrorists.

It's almost as if Pamela Geller and Geert Wilders are a bunch of disingenuous ideologues who deliberately bait extremists and then generalise all Muslims based on the response.

This was precisely what they wanted, yes.

It was win-win for them, either they pissed off a bunch of Muslims and got to revel in the outrage, or they drew out some extremists and got to shoot them. The onus was on Muslims to not lose their shit.

Why do these people get butthurt over drawings of a man that doesn't even exist?

Because they want to bully people.

This shit doesn't have anything to do with religious taboo. The taboo's only on Muslims themselves displaying an image of a Prophet or a holy figure. If it were the obligation of Muslims to prevent the showing of such things under all circumstances, everyone who carries a Crucifix'd be burnt at the stake, seeing as how Jesus is also a Prophet who'll return at the Second Coming to kick Satan's ass and bring the world under Islam.

There are plenty of Muslims who'd like to do such things, but none attempt such things in the West since there's too many Christians who do such things to bully without repercussions. Instead, they settle for bullying Westerners on things that're uncommon enough to ensure they only have to target a small number of people, and save the really nasty persecution for the religious minorities that live in their own countries.

Saudi Arabia, for instance, has more Christians in the country as a percentage of the population than there are Jews and Muslims combined in the US. They just lack any claim to citizenship no matter how long they live there, and lack any human rights altogether when they're from a less fortunate country like the Philippines. Saudi Arabia gets away with this because it's a more powerful and wealthier country than the Philippines.

The core aim of Islamofascism, as is the core aim of all totalitarians, is to bully in whatever way you can get away with. It's the duty of those with the power to fight back against totalitarians to recognize this and fight it to the death.

All that aside, I make absolutely no apologies for the many people out there who's primary concern with Islamofascism is the same paranoia over foreigners that drove Jim Crow, the Trail of Tears, and the Internment of the Japanese. On the other side of the globe, this same paranoia drove the Islamofascists themselves to create the Islamic State, and even the Islamic Republic forty years ago, in the first place.

The solution to this poison is the same for all sides: integration, brotherhood, and the universal defense of freedom of expression. People of all stripes should have the right to be what they want. People who try to force all others to be what they want should be executed.

Unfortunately, the freedom of speech abused by these clowns is a core tenet of our entire civilization. So we're compelled to defend even the worst of these scum, like Pamela Gellar. At least those who are actually citizens.

I see no particular reason we should let shit like Geert Wilders in the country, though, any more than we would any other undesirable alien here only to stir up shit.

To quote the words of Voltaitre: "We do not agree with what they have to say, but we'll defend to the death their right to say it."

I just don't think there should be any topic or subject drawn or spoken or written about where it results in people being hurt or killed and there's a reaction of "Well they WERE kind of asking for it." You don't like what's being drawn or spoken or written, deal with it like a civilized person.

Agreed.

Our thread on the Charlie Hebdo Attack

There's been some victim-blaming, which is pretty bigoted, if you ask me. When someone says the cartoonists were begging for trouble, the implication is that Muslims are intellectually on par with animals -with no ability to reason and predictably resorting to violence.

"You poked a bear with a stick, what did you think would happen? Of course it took a swipe at you!"

"You made fun of a sand-nigger, what did you think would happen? Of course he shot you!"

This. As repugnant as the speech is, complaining that it will result in retaliatory violence as an excuse to stop it is basically giving terrorists a heckler's veto over free speech rights. Don't like what someone is saying? Threaten to hurt people over it, then demand the police stop the speech because you're so concerned about the possibility of violence.

Geert Wilders isn't actually that scummy, he's just your standard populist anti-immigration politician. I'm from the Netherlands myself, I've seen what he does plenty of times. There's no reason to be afraid of him, since his party actually avoids any chance of governing because he could never fulfill any of his election promises.
