He threw his laptop away like a couple of hours into getting it, the main admin and someone who helps Terry out at times brought it from E-bay for around $200, Thinkpad X260 or If I can remember correctly. He uploads at the library where he is at at Dallas Oregon.

There is some contention that Terry isn't even schizophrenic. I've watched hours of footage and he never really declared that he is schizophrenic. He has always explained that he has manic bipolar disorder.

Why did he throw the computer away? I thought he was in The Dalles, not Dallas.

Just checking, I haven't watched all of the videos since he got back out, so I didn't know if he walked the 150 miles across to Dallas. I know when you're homeless and carrying everything you own you have to watch the weight, but it seems like he'd put up with the extra few pounds to keep a computer.

As much as I'd like to see Terry celebrated by the people, I think he'd be met with a lot of disdain for the colorful language he's used to describe black people. I personally don't have a problem with it, but we live in an era where political correctness, diversity, and inclusiveness are virtues of the media who could potentially shine a light on him. It's such a damn shame that a man of his caliber, someone who created a fucking operating system from scratch, is now homeless and all but forgotten by society. He honestly deserves a lot better.

His design ideas are academically interesting and sometimes even great. He doesn't need to have lots of bad attention to simply be taken care of and allowed to produce.
Compared to what we pay to fund CS grad students Terry's social contributions would be dirt cheap.
