Inactive Terry A. Davis / Terrence Andrew Davis - Creator of TempleOS (formerly LoseThos/sparrowOS)

Terry's on a fucking upload rampage atm. Not that I'm complaining.

Kinda :powerlevel:, but if Terry were closer to me, I'd totally let him crash on my couch. It hurts to see him out on the streets and I really wish I could do something to help him in a profound way, like get him more stable long-term housing.
This was his final cry for help. All he needed was an IRL friend that could care for him. See how he was a perfectly normal guy when he was talking about computers? Well, it's too late now. I hope he's entertaining Mr.God and drinking Diet Shasta in the 3rd Temple now.

For all the jokes about it it's crazy he managed to singlehandedly make a functional OS with its own programming language. I think he could've made some truly amazing professional stuff if he could've focused his ideas coherently without the illness.
The language wasn't really good beyond being idiosyncratic tho. Maybe like Knuth's CWEB.
The best way to keep up Terry's legacy is to pickup C or asm and try some system level hacking. It's not beginner friendly at all tho. Especially C.

Terry's fate is rather a sad tale about the current world. He has a lot of talent and interesting ideas but had more people sympathized with him than despised him, he would have been a swell man today. His death is a reminder that people will not give a damn about you, social or otherwise.

Might be wishful, but I like to think his faith was genuine. I've prayed for him either way. Hope he found or finds peace.

More people did but I think he possibly didn't know this. The only people who really hated him were jannies who banned him constantly for being too based.

I have a weird belief, anyone who was a good person at heart creates their own heaven as they live in their own mind. Once they die they go to that place and get to live out their best moments and create new experiences based on what they dreamt and desired in life.
As such I think Terry is like a bird now, thinking bird thoughts and doing the best he can, untroubled by thoughts that would harm him.

I’ve come to accept the fact that he was the modern equivalent of a Sainted figure
Terry was almost a kind of Holy Fool or yuródivyy in the Eastern tradition.
Fools for Christ are often given the title of Blessed (блаженный), which does not necessarily mean that the individual is less than a saint, but rather points to the blessings from God that they are believed to have acquired.

Imagine another potential IT breakthrough that would've potentially occurred if our lord and savior Terry Davis was still alive and had he gotten some proper help. I'm pretty sure that our favourite suicide faking furfag could've learned a lot from him.
Please god, take Leonart Poettering and give us back Terry.
