I think it would be rad if Terry invested in an electric drum kit, since an acoustic drum kit would be impractical due to noise and what not. I wonder if he's considered it.

I would imagine that he has the cash to spare or at least the means to save up. He gets a pretty big disability check and pays next to nothing for room and board.

It would be cool to see if Terry could really become the drummer boy, and if nothing else it would make most of drumming videos slightly easier to sit through.

I've known about this guy for a while now, and I'm glad to see a thread around here about him. He's a fascinating and tragic cow.

Terry's videos are a perfect textbook case study of schizophrenia, even when he's behaving "normally" and not rambling about God and CIA niggers. His speech is jumbled and disorganized, he is constantly disoriented (especially in public), and he has trouble expressing emotions appropriately. All classic schizophrenia symptoms anyone can spot from a mile away.

He kind of reminds me of a personal cow of mine, Tami Stainfield, a paranoid schizophrenic who ran for President in 2014. They were both brilliant, promising individuals who became schizophrenic. Both dedicated their outstanding passions and talents to projects related to their delusions, with magnificent yet bizarre results. The most depressing similarity is that both would probably be relatively functional and live up to their potential if they found a good medication combo and stuck to it.

I still think there might be hope for Terry. If he's able to continue to keep up his website like this and make changes to TOS that don't break it like he did a few months ago (even if it was just removing a feature,) I think that he's still mentally mostly there.

Terry is pretty rad IMO. Sure, a sick person -- a sick person who throws around racial slurs... (Can racism be excused by schizophrenia? I don't know.) But keep in my that he made an entire functional OS all by himself, which, while impractical for everyday use, has been evaluated by computer scientists who found that it contains a number of good ideas and concepts that could be incorporated into future Windows or Linux editions.

He isn't a lolcow in the strict sense. Most other cows suck at what they're doing and produce laughable results -- Nookie Bear, Gloria Tesch, Brianna Wu, just to name a few. Terry is in fact brilliant at what he does or did. The result was strange and even otherworldly, but did have its merits from a scientific standpoint. I wish people wouldn't mess with Terry.

I'd say generally not, but in Terry's case, he's suffering under so much delusion that he sincerely believes he's being persecuted by "CIA niggers." It's not like he just has Asshole Personality Disorder and is a racist on the side.

Considering how schizophrenia creates a false reality for the affected individual (at least when someone has it as bad as Terry has), I think we can at least say that he is not saying it to be actively malicious towards a group of people.

Schizophrenia has the tendency to take the "worst" parts of a person's brain and bring them to the forefront. Why this is the case is uncertain. Likely the same reason a perfectly normal individual who then gets Alzheimer's can do a complete personality 180 into a terrible human being who insults and sexually harasses people they had loved. In the past, schizos tended to hear "you're gay" as a voice in their head because being gay was one of the worst things to be. Now that being gay is becoming acceptable, I suppose "being rascist" is the next new "bad" thing to be that their brains can latch on to. At the very least, racist remarks get reactions out of people, which fuels their schizophrenia, as people trying to call them out on it makes them feel more attacked and thus fuel their paranoia.

I'm not a real psychologist, I just play one on the internet.

He tends to respond well enough to videos parodying or criticizing him as opposed to people who just go out and try to troll him. See also: he used his youtube account to like Mr. Metokur's video and he also re-posted it on the temple os website.
