Inactive Terry A. Davis / Terrence Andrew Davis - Creator of TempleOS (formerly LoseThos/sparrowOS)

I just mirrored the TempleOS download directory for you guys. I can't guarantee it'll stay up, I'm just testing out mirroring various things relating to lolcows. It's hosted on a dedicated server in Germany, so DMCA stuff shouldn't be an issue.

Here's the mirror URL:
http://mirror.lolcow.club/TempleOS/

I'll probably put an index.html listing details on it in a little bit.

This is very awesome of you, fam. I may never install it (unless I want to mess around in VMs) but I am glad there is going to be a source for the one thing Terry did that was truely amazing and crazy at the same time, and that is the TempleOS. It is something truely unique and worth preserving.

The fact that I still can't find an obituary or any sort of media source to confirm his death gives me a tiny sliver of hope that this is all one big hoax.
This might end up being a miracle.

Cross-posting this from Brad Watson's thread:

You know what I find amusing about Terry Davis and Brad?

Both claim to be prophets, but Terry actually put forth effort by making an entire operating system in the image of God's intent, BY HIMSELF, while Brad can't do basic algebra without cheating.

In fact, one could argue Terry is the better prophet because he seeks to actually glorify God by his work, while Brad seeks to glorify himself.

That said, of the two, I legit mourn Terry's passing right now, assuming it's confirmed, he gave this world something other than a monument to his own ego.

One thing some people might not be aware of is that obituaries cost money, a couple hundred bucks at least. That might be part of the reason one wasn't posted in the local media specific to him and especially if they lost so many family members recently and had done a few already. Just conjecture.

It's one of the nasty ways funeral directors here pad funeral bills. They place them on behalf of the family but charge the family an outrageous amount for doing so when the family could have placed them directly for much less. They do the same with applying for the death certificate to be issued.

It could also be that they just haven't got around to it yet with everything that's been happening. People who actually needed to know would have been contacted personally. It's not that unusual for memorial services to be held a fair while after death and for public announcements (if any) to be made at that time. If there's no funeral or memorial service, or if those events are private, there's no need for a public announcement at all.

What a genuine tragedy. I mean the poor man's entire life, or at least his life after the schizophrenia took over.

It's like Jim said at the end of his video. "There but for the grace of God go I." A brilliant mind and promising life destroyed, and there's no reason for any of it, no culprit. Nothing he did wrong. Just the worst aspects of his genetics showing up and wrecking everything.

A genuine "F" from me. Terry didn't deserve any of this shit.
