Retards are sleeping in the drivers seat of Teslas and letting them stay on autopilot despite the fact that """full self driving""" Teslas are not actually full self driving. People crash their expensive overpriced cars and die or kill others because of this, only the lucky ones get pulled over and arrested.

Those people are just tempting fate and like he says in the video, they are using fake weights to trick the auto sensors. But it's not just a tesla problem, the autopilot they are using is just highway lane control, and its in all the new cars (American and Asian). I've driven a Ford Edge from 2022 and their auto pilot is more forgiving with constant pressure applied to the wheel in comparison to the model 3.

BMVs are expensive, and are only used by the snobbest and biggest douchebags ever.

It is simply a mercedes with added douche for tryhards.

If you see a mother trying to rush a baby carrier to the other side in a hurry, despite the green light, you know that there is a BMV coming and he doesn't care about red lights.

If someone is parking horizontally in vertical parking lot and taking up 3 spaces? Yeah, its a BMW.

If you got a frat boy son who can't count to ten, will inherit 5 million dollars and never worked in his life.... get him a BMW asap.

What is your opinion on if I daily drive a Mercedes that had an engine swap with a Honda?

Something about Teslas just screams soulless to me, like the cars have no personality. I got to drive a friend's model 3 and it definitely has all these neat features but everything about the car seems empty. Even doing a 0-60 run seemed underwhelming. Like, pure acceleration and instant torque is cool as shit, but the car makes it seem lame.

Agree, but I think that's something that's been seen in most cars the last few years, in Europe anyway. They all look identical, and I think it's safety regulations ruling that certain parts of the car have to be certain sizes in case you drive into something etc etc. I rented a car last month and the amount of beeps and boops the fucking thing made just while driving on a straight road, just shut the hell up and let me drive and feel the ride. Sterile and boring. I can only imagine what an electric engine must feel like on top of all that.

I generally buy second hand cars from the 00s because I like a car where I can feel whats wrong and then fix it myself (and run on agricultural diesel for less tax lol), I absolutely loathe the push my country is making for electric cars, mainly because I live incredibly rurally and it's not even remotely feasible for me to get one. I'm hoping the Japs really kick off with synthetic fuel to lower emissions and save the ICE. I was going to get in touch with a company to see if they sell to individuals and see the price difference between diesel from oil and all the tax, and diesel made in some lab. Fingers crossed.

Oh god, yes. I get annoyed when my current car starts chiming about the seatbelt. I don't think I could stand it pinging whenever I'm crossing lanes, or someone is passing me closer than the proscribed minimum.

My dad's car, which is at least a decade old, has this constant parade of boops and dings and bipbipbips as it detects shit on the road. With all the sensors and "driving aids" in the current generation of cars, it's a surprise anyone can concentrate long enough to avoid crashing. Electrics and their "everything is a touchscreen now" control scheme just make it worse, adding another layer of "feedback" noise to the cacophony.

Oh totally, I think I'm gonna research on how to disconnect the alarms from the seatbelts and such, since I buy old junkers the insurance isn't an issue. The worst for me is when you're reversing. I have two eyes and three mirrors, I can reverse just fine BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP WATCH THE FUCK OUT BLEEP BLEEP THERE'S TOTALLY SOMETHING YOU'RE ABOUT TO HIT BLEEP BLEEP and the object in question is like a metre away.

Also, that's a fair point, since using your phone while driving is illegal, shouldn't touchscreens on the centre console be treated the same? I thought the point of having physical dials that click 1 - 2 - 3 mean you can tell what level of breeze you're getting without having to take your eyes off the road?

NGL I wanted EVs for a long time but the combination of smugness, unrepairability and premium prices has soured me to the idea.

Doesn't helps that being stuck in the city for work reasons means I don't have a garage, and even if I had a charger in my parking space I just know some fucker is gonna disconnect my car and maybe even kick the little door off because thats the kind of bullshit you get here for "living in the city".

In retrospective that french company with the removable battery cars had the right idea: you can get an EV for cheap and just pay for the recharged batteries which is the same than paying for the charging, and it gets done in a minute rather than hours. Also you don't have to worry about battery degradation fucking with your range or your resale value since you always get a "new" battery. And if there's no battery exchange station in your way you can always recharge like a normal EV.

Too bad it didn't work because selling cheap EVs is not as big a business as selling overpriced consoom "look at me" flex culture cars.

There are many hurdles to overcome:

1. Limited raw materials, namely lithium, to meet forced demand by 2035. Alternative battery chemistries are being researched, but they will not be economically viable in 12 years. Nevermind the ethics of cobalt mining.
2. Electrical grid robustness. Good luck charging your home in Texas in the winter.
3. Charging infrastructure - not just along the interstate, but home chargers. Not everyone owns a home.

And always remember, anything that comes out of Musk's mouth is 90% a lie.

If we survive that long, I'll laugh my ass off when lithium runs out while oil remains in massive supply after being told it's going to run out every day now the last 3 decades.

While I do believe EV's will be an option in decades to come, I fully believe there will be more than one: gasoline, diesel, hybrids, BEV.

Only 1 option is not reasonable.

Mental Outlaw dropped a new video about the 8 car pileup on I-80 in San Francisco caused by a Tesla last Thanksgiving. It's been confirmed that the car's """full self driving""" was on and active at that time, which resulted in the car phantom braking.

"Self Driving Tesla Causes 8 Car Pileup"

Of important note is that Tesla is the only auto manufacturer with a phantom braking problem, no other manufacturer's cars randomly stop on the highway for no reason Other manufacturers have phantom braking problems too but they're reported less than Teslas. Daily reminder that """full self driving""" is a lie and FSD is not full self driving in any way, shape or form.

Unfortunately, other car companies have the same issue with their AEB systems as well.

Regardless of Tesla's lies, Everyone that crashed into that Tesla is a fucking retard.

Thanks, corrected. It makes me feel really scared of ever touching a modern car which is basically a computer on wheels when the computer is prone to failing, being hacked or just plain forcing you to buy subscription bullshit to use basic features of the car.

For what it's worth, if you have a ford, you can get forscan and disable like half of the beeps and override half of the stupid limitations the car places on you. If you have anything else, you're kinda screwed.

I heard tesla prices are crashing right now and you can get a sub-50k miles model3 for like $20k.

At that price I have to say its not bad, if you have a garage and a 240v charger that is. Sucks that elon is a even bigger shit than apple and kills the autopilot after resale, but I heard you can jailbreak it.

Imagine having to jailbreak your fucking car.
