I've said before that California drivers are horrible, but at least they're quick about it. But now there are roaming hordes of Teslas going under the speed limit throughout the state. If they had gotten cars with bigger batteries they could drive faster and be less efficient.

It's like that for any state if you're close to a big population center. All filled with old people and middle aged moms going about their day while holding traffic back from behind them for a few minutes.

A vehicle with a bigger battery wouldn't do an awful lot if there's a set limitation designed to use the least amount of power as possible when driving. It's for promoting a "greener" form of car traffic, ya know?

It takes exactly one 60-year-old woman driving 50 mph in the left lane to ruin traffic for the entire city.

Fun story. Around here, they used to ticket you for getting passed on the right. Like if you were tooling along at the speed limit in the left lane, and people were passing you on the right, cops would pull you over and ticket you. Traffic flow was fantastic. Well, guess what happened? Old ladies pissed and moaned and wrote letters to the city government, so they repealed the ordinance, and now traffic is a nightmare, but the old ladies are happy.

Hordes of Teslas in the US, while in Asia, all I see are hordes of BYDs.

There are also Hordes of BYDs in Australia, parts of Europe, the UK, Southeast Asia, Mexico, and South America. Although if say Kamala did win the election, would shitty BYD Hordes be a thing in the US to because she decides to remove the tariffs on Chinese EVs?

Chinese cars typically don't meet US safety regulations.

I think it’s funny how the comments in this thread barely read as hate anymore now that the political spergs hate Tesla so much more than the car spergs.

Imagine belonging to a social group where you buy an absolute piece of shit car because of politics, and you're not allowed to say what a piece of shit it is until the CEO changes political parties, or you'll lose all your friends because they'll call you a science-denying Nazi.

Oh well, the upside is that Tesla's are quite cheap now, even 2020 long range Model 3's are well within my price range.

This sums up my opinion of recent going ons

I've already sperged in Elon's thread about it, but the massive tablets in these cars need to be illegal. That, in combination with no physical buttons, is a safety hazard. You don't need a massive tablet in a car. You're supposed to have your eyes on the road. It's the same shit with the Chinese ones expect you can get a magnetic add on for buttons but if you put too much pressure on it, it falls.

THIS is how big the screens in these cars should be, maybe getting away with a couple inches more but that's it. You have your physical buttons, and you have Bluetooth, CarPlay, and maps. Without the unnecessary bloat. You don't need Netflix in a car for fuck's sake.

I thought that some of these cars were cool, and then I saw some of the safety risks and changed my mind immediately. Have you guys seen the videos of the Chinese ones accelerating and the driver losing control of the car? Or the car setting on fire? Fucking terrifying.

There have been reports of Teslas having problems as well. I understand the concerns people have with saving the planet, but is there a way to design an EV and not make it absolute dog shit or a safety hazard?
I saw a comment on, I think, YouTube (?) where someone said maybe drinking and driving laws could be relaxed due to the self-driving capabilities of these cars. Do these people not realize the autopilot function in Tesla is more of a driving assistant? These vehicles are not fully autonomous, and even the Tesla website itself says that. You need to supervise it.

People have already died from not reading the fine print. God, Elon is the gayest "Nazi wannabe" (I don't think he is but you know people on twitter) ever. Not only would they gas him for being an autist; he can't design a car or dress for shit. If Hitler were somehow resurrected and saw the state of his movement, he would kill himself again.

Don't even get me started on those self driving taxis where people can stand in front of it and harass you. Putting your life at risk. Waymo needs to be fucking banned.

We have one of them on here right now, though they're not wrong about the tablets and the rebranded lane assist being retarded. Case in point: read the reply above Welfare Bum's on this page.

Motorcycles got it right decades ago, unfortunately now manufacturers are adding big screens to with lots of menus to those as well.
Take this as an example of simplicity:

You've got your speed, gear, RPM, water temp, range and fuel level. You can focus on the road, no gimmicks. It's all intuitive.
There are more options in submenus but you are not going to mess with them on the road, unless you are feeling suicidal.
