Right, and a warrant is particularly required for private messages between the suspect and others. Of course, if they're suspected of wronging and you can create a fake profile and bait them into confessing/soliciting illegal activities, you don't need a warrant. If the cops wanted to nail Thad, they'd just have to create a profile of an underage girl and make sure he finds it. I'm sure he'd be obliging enough to incriminate himself.
It's probably not that simple. The admissibility of evidence uncovered during sting operations can vary a whole lot state by state or between the state and the federal government, which is why similar sting ops like those on TCAP were very heavily monitored and could only be conducted in certain states. If you try to bait them too hard, the defense can argue entrapment, and the definition of when it turns into entrapment varies. Even on TCAP, the decoys were instructed not to initiate the conversation, or turn it sexual, but to allow the predator to turn it sexual and go along with it. They also had to be sure that the predator knew they were underage. In other words, they couldn't just go and say "u want sum fuk lol im 12", they had to be contacted by the predator, reveal they're underage, and if the predator keeps being sexual then they go with it.

He could have had a big tiddy gf, but instead he’s going after children. What a rеtard.

ehhhh, thad breaks seterotypes about black men.

This is why stupid people are dangerous. They're too dumb to know they're breaking the rules. I think that's why he violated his bail conditions because he simply couldn't grasp that his social media was being monitored (I feel sorry for whoever got stuck with that job), and he'd be punished for it. Smart people break the law too, but they at least try to not get caught. Since the whole thing started because he couldn't stop bragging about his collection of child porn, I think he just lacks the ability to understand that what he was doing was wrong and people would have a problem with it.
This is part of why chimps are so dangerous when they become aggressive: they're very strong, and smart enough to do things like open doors that most animals can't, but they are too stupid to know that they should be afraid of a gun.

Thad working at Target seems plausible, as there is a Target in Southfield MI, 30333 Southfield Rd, Southfield, MI 48076, USA. Combined with the reverse image searches turning up nothing and everything else checking out, I'm going to err on the side of it being him but still taking this with a grain of salt.

I thought, from personal experience working at an employment seeking agency, that Target did not hire felons. Tried getting a guy a job there once, he had a felony, he did not get the job because of the felony.

Maybe he lied on his application. Or maybe it varies from store to store. Or maybe Michigan has some bullshit where it's illegal to check.

"Michigan law prohibits employers from asking about misdemeanor arrests that did not lead to conviction. However, employers may ask about convictions for misdemeanors and arrests and convictions for felonies.

Michigan’s Department of Civil Rights has put out a Pre-Employment Inquiry Guide, which gives employers guidance on hiring and interview questions. In addition to the rules above on questions about arrests and convictions, the guide indicates that an employer may not adopt a blanket policy of refusing to consider or hire anyone who has a criminal conviction."

Basically, they can only ask you about the felony if the felony is relevant to the job requirements. If Thad doesn't have to be around children very often. his conviction would not be very relevant. Child-pornography is generally not considered a violent offense either, unlike child molestation or abuse, and some restrictions apply only to violent felons.

In addition, there are felon employment programs where agencies help felons obtain employment as part of terms of release or to help transition, and sometimes these jobs are lined up before the felon is released from a half way house or prison. I don't know if Thad is required to be employed, but if he is than there are agencies that can help him. It is harder to get a job with a felony, but not impossible.

Federal Title VIII may also be of importance here:
"Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 protects applicants and employees from discrimination in every aspect of employment, including screening practices and hiring. Because arrest and incarceration rates are much higher for African Americans and Latinos, an employer that adopts a blanket policy of excluding all applicants with a criminal record might be guilty of race discrimination.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has issued guidance explaining how employers can screen out applicants whose criminal records pose an unreasonable risk without engaging in discrimination. In deciding whether a particular offense should be disqualifying, employers must consider:

  • the nature and gravity of the criminal offense or conduct
  • how much time has passed since the offense or sentence, and
  • the nature of the job (including where it is performed, how much supervision and interaction with others the employee will have, and so on).
And, the EEOC has said that employers should give applicants with a record an opportunity to explain the circumstances and provide mitigating information showing that the employee should not be excluded based on the offense."

Adopting a blanket policy of not hiring felons could put you at risk of a title VIII suit, and it's recommended at least that some additional circumstances be considered, similar to Michigan's practice.

Michigan sounds similar to most states. Only a few have the really ridiculous laws. It's possible Target has some kind of special needs hiring that picks otherwise undesirable employees, like I think Wal-Mart does. I don't know if they do felons specifically.

I wouldn't put it past Thad to just lie or past Target to not bother checking too closely, though.

I don't think you're obligated to answer if you're a felon or not by law either, you can choose not to disclose either way.

I think an employer would be entitled to know if you were convinced of a violent offense or financial malfeasance if the job is financially related.

I thought sex offenders were supposed to stay away from areas with children? Guess it can't be helped, the man does need a job and there aren't many workplaces for a guy of his substandard intelligence that wouldn't be either a fast food joint or a Walmart (Or a Walmart clone like Target) where there are bound to be kids.
He's probably working exclusively in the back room, or maybe he stocks shelves in a random part of the store, like pet or car supplies. Something where he has minimal interaction with customers in general, not just kids. The law refers to places that are actually for kids, like playgrounds and Chuck E. Cheese type places. Otherwise it would have unrealistic expectations.

If you read the thread he’s off lolis and on milfs/gilfs
Or so he says. Honestly, Thad's probably the sort of idiot who would commit a rape, then use "Why would I rape a woman, I'm gay!" as a defense.
"I don't have 30 gigs of kiddie porn on the laptop I keep under the floorboards, I only like grannies!"
An attempt to establish plausible deniability would be my guess. Or to get the feds to not look so closely at what he does online.

Based on what we knew of him before arrest, I'm of the opinion it's a bit of column A, a bit of column B.

Thad always struck me as a sex hound in general, looking for the next fetish to jerk off to, and while I don't doubt he'd still jerk it to child porn if he got the chance, I do find it plausible his current stated fetish is his current boner summoner of choice.

There’s something weirdly hilarious about the fact that everyone expected him to be raped and murdered in jail, only for him to be released completely unscathed, reveal that he’s now swole as fuck, and he in fact raped the other prisoners.

To be honest, I think the reason why Thad got all beefed up so he could keep himself from getting assaulted in jail. I would not be surprised if he didn't get into at least a few fights for his life while he was in the joint.

I'm not so sure if he actually raped another prisoner. My guess is that Thad was either making the whole thing up to sound tough, or it was a consensual sexual encounter since Thad does have a very high sex drive, sort of a "jailhouse gay" scenario.

It's probably part that and part that there's nothing else worth doing so why not get ripped? Your anal virginity gets preserved and your body gets buffed.
