Happy thanksgiving bros. Eat up.

happy thanksgiving all. in order to better prepare for next year please share your favorite foods to have and any recipes you may have .
I used to be the Thanksgiving cook, but I had to pass the torch due to health issues. The younguns asked for my recipes, but pretty much disregarded all my instructions and advice regarding purchasing and defrosting the turkey etc. Dinner is supposed to be in an hour, and they're still frantically trying to defrost an ENORMOUS turkey. I'm just sitting here in the living room, quietly drinking a white hot cocoa, and smothering my smug smiles and snickering in my cocoa mug. At this rate, dinner will be served around midnight lol.

I have hope for the sides and desserts, since they did follow my advice to prep all that shit the day before and just reheat it on Thanksgiving. The turkey is fucked though, better luck next year kids.

Well YouTube just served me up the 1996 Macy's parade which I watched for a while just to catch a glimpse of both a very much alive and well Phil Hartman and World Trade Center so happy Thanksgiving, kids.

My Thanksgiving salad is delicious and easy to scale for different gathering sizes:

Base of butter lettuce and/or romaine lettuce, chopped small
Crumbled Gorgonzola
Candied pecans (homemade are great but I usually use premade)
Still-firm Anjou or Bartlett pears, thinly sliced
Finely chopped green onions or chives as garnish

Dressing: 3 tbs good olive oil, 2 tbs champagne vinegar, 1 tsp honey, 1 tsp Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, and granulated garlic to taste. Shake or whisk to combine.
