That hip hop thread...

DistantCry
This one was interesting.
That simple huh? Never would've guessed.
Better than the original, IMO.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm gonna keep my eye on these channels.

Any sense of assumption that a musical genre is dying isn't actually dying. Rock music started different when it first started in the early-50s, but has changed drastically with various subgenres over the next few decades, and the same goes with rap. It will change, but it's unknown if it will be for better or for worse, but only time will tell

The competency crisis the West worries about isn't affecting the other nations. Because they are actually scouting the Western trainers, producers, and lyricists at the moment. The problem is purely government policy issues of their own making.

Lil Yachty was trending on social media recently after making a new song with J. Cole as a surprise feature

It‘s a surprise to many since in the last half of the 2010’s, Yachty used to diss J. Cole on a couple of occasions:

“I don’t know why back in the day I was heavy on saying ‘fuck J. Cole,’ I don’t know why. Aight, let me clear this up. I used to say that a lot. The first one was 2011, I was in tenth grade I think. I fuck with J. Cole as a person, [but] I don’t listen to J. Cole. I have nothing against J. Cole, I was young, I was just talking shit trolling. I didn’t think I was gonna be a rapper.”

He even released a new single with the help of his son Adonis, who even drew the cover art for the album:

A few years ago a rapper in Poland named Mata released a song called Patointeligencja.
The song is about all the trouble that he got into in high school. In the last part, he talks about how he got into gangsta rap because he didn’t want his parents to treat him like a spoiled rich white kid anymore.

I never looked into what was sampled, or how beats were made. I was more interested in understanding the lyrics. That's why Ghostface is one of my favorites. His skills with metaphor and storytelling always had me going back to the verses, looking for more layers or relationships to the real world or other songs, and it was always a good experience when I learned something new.

It's fascinating how beats are put together, and I've become more interested in it lately. I saw this from Mannie Fresh a while back:

When it comes to rap, my favorite artist is Rozz Dyliams/Dylan Ross, he inspired most of my music and how I rap. I like that he combines multiple genres per album. Here's one of my favorites from him:

His ep "Hatch"

I guess he is also one of the people who inspired Lil Peep? I'll admit I like the sound of Lil Peep's music more than the actual music he made, Rozz is the one I prefer.
