Pretty much everyone here has heard of Tyler Perry's Madea franchise amongst many other franchises he made. The concept of it being set in a dysfunctional family of niggers where anything happens. My thoughts on it is usually mixed. When done right I'd find it quite astonishing. Otherwise they'd end up forgettable. Which is why some movies are better than others.

Madea is ironically the biggest victim of closet faggotry out there. Tyler perry stopped doing it because so much of the black community got mad that a black man would crossdress in a comedy.

Madea always sounded to me like the Black alternative to Adam Sandler dumb fun feelgood films that faggot critics feel morally superior for tearing down.

Having to compare Tyler Perry to Adam Sandler is very fitting. Neither of them intend to make movies for journos, but rather their respective audiences they had in their minds, and when they do appear in other movies, they can do good whenever they want to.

Modern day retard faggot journos always have their minds of picking the small shrimps than the bigger fishes in the sea. It's basically a classic tale of slobs vs. snobs

What is the appeal of these movies for bleq folx? I only ever watched trailers of these when someone posted them on /tv/ and every single time my reaction was literally "What the fuck am i watching?". They almost have a surreal feel with Perry in his outfit, shouting stuff at other niggos.

It's fascinating how the overall shift in critics over the last decades from only giving good reviews to artsy/oscar bait films into sucking goyslop from the globohomo tit. But in both cases they'll still hate on the schlocky films for being honest and relatively "family values" socially conservative.

Which is why I cannot stand modern journalism. They expect any film to be either a work of art or an identity political piece or other stupid shit. Movies made by Tyler Perry, Adam Sander, Michael Bay, Roland Emmerich and M. Night Shyamalan, among many others, are focusing only on this simple thing–making the damn movies. Movies that focus more on the audiences intended, not for journos (or even redditors).

I thought he stopped making Madea movies but now I'm finding out he just puts them on Netflix so I just haven't heard about them?

I'm reading the synopsis for the newest one and it starts with

"In Atalanta, Georgia, Mr. Brown puts too much gasoline on the barbecue and sets himself on fire."

I've met a lot of white people that love Madea. I don't know if I've ever actually watched one of these films all the way through. I feel like I might have watched Diary of a Mad Black woman at some point.

Still, I have a lot of memories of just laughing and making up bullshit Madea movies back in high school and early college based on the commercials I'd seen.

For this I agree, while Tyler Perry movies may be trashy, at least they knew their audience and made the movies appealing to said audience rather the feelings of douchebag critics.

It's the reason why both of his movies, Diary of a Mad Black Woman and Why Did I Get Married?, earned an A+ grade on the audience surveying research score team CinemaScore. Journos and redditors do not understand that the movies do make money for better or for worse.

I not only never thought I’d see this thread here, but also see some of the most insightful Madea commentary I’ve ever seen.

The Farms is a magical place and I never want to leave.

I watched Madea’s Big Happy Family two months ago when it was free on YouTube. Brought back good memories, and I enjoyed poking fun at it.
