Just listened to it again, it really is great.
Decided to go see Kanonenfieber next month on a whim and have been listening to their stuff again. I was kind of shocked by how different the first album sounds and for some reason they seem to completely ignore it live.

Thrash but less of the "punk elements", provided you understand that the "punk elements" in thrash literally just means using that dum-ta dum-dum ta Motorhead drum beat.
 
One of the other abstract points of delineation between speed and thrash I've seen is whether the band is trying hard to look like cool skaters or are still okay being fantasy nerds.

That's because Nergal and, dare I say, 99% of Black Metal artists, are mall satanists. Probably if you press him he'd say something like "well ackshually I use Satan as a metaphor. I'm a liberal atheist plebbitor who just wants to piss off Christians because it's funny and I have nothing else to say artistically because I'm a one trick pony" (and I've basically made a career out of ripping off Morbid Angel).

The same Christian society, orderly and polite to a fault, where people like him can make a living out of making a mockery of the place where he was born.

Compared to what we've seen in then Epstein files, Nergal and his ilk are literal Hot Topic-tier mall goths, quite harmless; they may not be satanists but are part of the problem, as there are actual occult and (((satanic))) sacrifices happening, as we have seen. Or at the very least, there's people who truly believe in "satanic" shit.

I still find Black Metal as amusing entertainment and not harmful because I don't take it seriously, but these dudes need to get a reality check every once in a while.

Another thing to note, is how these satanist LARPers take potshots at Christianity but never at any other religion.

Tired of this sentiment tbh when all of the most cliche fedora criticisms of religion is almost exclusively picking holes in the Torah. Genesis, Noah, Job, Exodus, Leviticus…. It’s no one’s fault but Christians that they too believe in jewish mythology. It’s not like anyone on reddit is arguing that Jesus isn’t the Logos, and they all still think he’s heckin chungus and would condemn conservatives. Mocking him is still edgy no matter how much you think we live in a godless world.

I mostly agree with what you say, but I don't think they attack Christianity as a religion but as an identity. Christendom is the 2000 years old White European world, and this is what they hate more than anything. They are using anti-Old Testament arguments, but they don't use them against Jews, but against Christian, because they hate Christianity more than religion. It's the same reason they aren't aggressive at all with Islam even when you show them that a mad pedophile gangster created a cult in which their god ask them to rape, kill and enslave everything and everyone in order to gain access to a paradise where you fuck with 72 eternally virgins alien beings.

New Lovebites coming tomorrow. I'm not a Melodic Power metal fan, but those girls always sounded more aggressive and fun than most of the genre.

Reverorum Ib Malacht became one of my favorite band in the last couple of years. They are really hit or miss, but Kyrie Eleison is the most apocalyptic album I've ever heard.

Absolutely. I know there’s multiple layers to this whole phenomenon but without derailing any further, you can still be metal and blasphemous to secular liberal society by denouncing Christianity as jewish, humanitarian, and practiced by niggers. Hell, throw in some esoteric hitlerism too about how Lucifer is the god of the Aryans.

This album alone clears Behemoth's discography ​

Behemoth is overrated death metal with black metal imagery. They're not even that good, only the early black metal records (and 3 good albums in the death metal era at most) is worth hearing. Imo peak Polish death metal is personally Decapitated's first four records, but unfortunately they didn't have the appealing imagery Behemoth had to make them essentially the Slipknot of Poland like how Behemoth is
