Last I checked they're debating about whether or not it's okay to like the new Exodus album because "Souza is a Trump supporter, and Gary Holt, despite calling himself a liberal, is only liberal by white dude standards" lol
I've seen so many regulars there just stop posting, maybe people are starting to realize it's just the metal neoGAF at this point.
At this point if it pisses of the MA userbase I'd consider it a pretty good marker of quality.

The only two new albums I've listened to this year are the new Absu and the new Archgoat.
Both pretty good, but Archgoat edges it because ... idk. I like the aggression.

this is fucking excellent. went right in the Bandcamp wishlist.
They're superb as you've obviously gathered. Sadly they're one of those super anonymous bands with sparse activity. Absolute silence until hopefully something happens. They have a demo and another EP besides this that are 100% worth your time. Don't miss out.
Bit of an old classic when it comes to unnerving BM. Lots of ambient and industrial elements, and influenced by Silent Hill.

Just what I needed. I don't normally go for industrial influenced bands, but this is scratching an itch.

Speaking of hair. Reminder not to overlook X Japan just because they looked like a glam/hair band (they're not, they were a raw, fast, talented speedpowerish whatever metal band early on). And try to ignore the fact weebs liked them

Japanese metal is always a trip. Sigh, Gargoyle, Gotsu Totsu Kotsu, Pharmacist, I've never seen a one that didn't subscribe to the philosophy more is more.
