Old Artillery is great but I'll never get over how terrible Terror Squad's artwork is. It's like the artist gave up a quarter of the way through.

On a slightly relevant segue here's another cool 80s Danish album with terrible coverart.
According to Metal Archives: "The album cover was just a sketch drawn by Jørgen Sandau, but the label decided to use it anyway for the front cover", which makes so much sense...

Crystal Knight are pretty decent 🤘

I for one am a huge fan of album art that looks like it came from the back of someone's algebra notebook.

I love ugly hand-drawn album covers. I'll be damned if i can explain it, but i feel a weird sense of nostalgia when i see shit like this, even for stuff that i haven't listened to (like Svartsyn or Battleaxe)

Nigga that Whiplash cover is awesome, no irony necessary

As much as I enjoy Slayer's 80s output (Seasons was good too, but it was the beginning of the end) I could never help snickering at this cover.

Beaten to Death are something else. They're...melodic grindcore? I know that sounds like a stupid contradiction but apparently that's a thing that's possible and it sounds incredible. Also they're weird as fuck, they just finished a concept quadrology about fictional forests.

Any songs that have this kinda feel to them? With the speech and the marching of the music and the whole atmosphere around it?

Razor has a bunch of bad album covers, which range from not-so-bad, to pretty awful.

A couple of them got redrawn for later re-releases, with not much better results.

New Voivod out the other day. Honestly I'm kind of amazed, I was expecting The Wake to be their swansong given the band's age, but it looks like these guys are gonna keep writing if they have to be wheeled out in a chair.

I'm trying to remember a black metal album from the late 90's maybe the early 00's. (97 or 04' most likely) The album art was all orange and black, with viking ships in orange, and everything else in black. It came on CD. Either from Norway or Finland. Thanks

Falkenbach, maybe?

Can anybody suggest any up-and-coming doom acts I might not have heard yet? Think Monolord and Moon Coven. Being a doom fan always feels kinda lonely in the metal scene.
