I've been watching this guy, Radio Free Innsmouth, to find new bands to check out. He does a pretty good job of explaining what makes different bands/albums unique and sometimes ventures out of metal to comment on stuff like dungeon synth. As you can tell by the first few seconds of his most recent video he is either on this site or at least watches the MATI streams:

Here are his videos on two of my favorite bands:

A word of warning though, he has an odd fixation with Asian women (I think they're Kpop stars) and may or may not be some kind of wignat (but then I repeat myself).

Sweet. Been looking for a new metal-tuber ever since Goniloc just stopped posting stuff.
Swear I've heard that voice somewhere before too.

New Absurd album's surprisingly good. I mean if you're down with their brand of no-surprises folky punk black metal stuff, which not everybody is.
This is the new lineup with Hendrik (founding member/murderer guy), not the two guys who did the last 3 albums, so nobody really knew what to expect. It's not too far away from the last couple albums though.

Absurd MA.JPG

There are two ABSURD now. Basically it's the same shit like with Batushka.

There is a lot of bad blood between Wolf and Unhold on one side and Hendrik (JFN) on the other side. The shitshow started when Hendrik got released from jail and came back into the scence. During Hendrik's jail time Wolf and Unhold were Absurd. Hendrik got released and wanted his part of the Absurd cake which caused some tension. Situation then escalated over the years.

Haven't really listened to the new album of Hendrik's Absurd but yeah, the song sounds like the stuff Wolf and Unhold did on "Blutgericht" album.

now playing:

I didn't like the first YEZDIN album but the new one is fantastic.
Videogame synths mixed with harsh Black Metal.
Amiga Black Metal.
Very catchy.

The drama's kind of embarrassing. So much for "European solidarity" when you can't even figure out the rights to a band name.

Afaik the whole agreement was that Hendrik's brother and Sven (sorry, Unhold) would carry on the band name while Hendrik serves his time. For them not to hand it back to a founding member of the band, especially when they're both uninterested in doing new material, well that's pretty lame. I did like their era musically speaking though.

The situation kinda reminds me of Temnozor, who also had a non-original musician carry on the band's legacy and then the original members decided to reform separately down the track. Except that situation seemed to be amicable for the most part.

Anyway I don't give a shit about the Absurd drama, they're all terrible human beings who I wouldn't mind seeing in landfill, but if there's two Absurds now then that means that there'll (hopefully) be twice as much new material and that's all I care about.
