Akercocke just got announced for the Damnation pre-show in Manchester. November 3rd, they're playing the whole of Choronzon. That's going to be really, really silly, and you should all come.

Shame they don't play any of the Matt Willycocks material live, but I guess Scanlan doesn't have the chops.

Fun fact about IBP: Years ago, at the same time when I lived in Berlin, he opened a little store there, together with Unhold from W.T.C. Productions. When they opened there was a little opening party but it only took some days until the windows got smashed. The windows got smashed a few times and lefties organized a demo against it and gave flyers away informing people about the evil Nazi store in their neighbourhood. It was a complete shitshow. They even sent test-buyers in the shop who looked through the records in the hopes to find NSBM and shit. But of course they didn't sell any Absurd stuff or so. Store got closed after a few month bc it simple was too expensive to buy new windows every few days.
As if there weren't more urgent problems in Berlin lol.
What was the name of the store they opened?

Coming from these brutal Indian war/noise bands: I really dig KONFLICT (Sri-Lanka) and the more politically incorrect REEK OF THE UNZEEN GAS FUMES (Japan). Konflict is more harsh war/noise metal while ROTUGF is more grind focused.

Both bands did a split together:

More Konflict stuff:

ROTUGF:

Reek of Unzen Gas Fumes is kind of overrated imo. theyre controversial for some reason... prob cuz the members are Japanese radical anti-Buddhists or something. Idk I find that lore more interesting than their music. it's worth looking into

tbh I'm not that much a fan of grind or death metal in general. ROTUGF do it for me just fine. Catchy riffs, it's groovy, it's chaotic, it's noisy and all of it on a level that tingles my ears.
Their lore contributes to why I like them. You can only have so many grind bands singing about gore and sexual perversion before it get's boring.

I was recommended this band by a friend a few months ago. Could not find any lyrics, interested to find out what "Radical Japanese nationalist anti buddhism" song lyrics are like

I only have the split with Konflict as a tape and the split with Via Dolorossa/Massenvernichtung. None of the releases includes lyrics for the songs so I don't know, sorry.

I'm only superficially familiar with Reek of Unzen, all I have to say is that they are good representatives of how the Japanese tend to turn up the insanity to 11, even if it's just for the sake of being edgelords. I like listening to Japanese hardcore/punk/noise whatever, I read up a bit of the history, apparently shows could get violent, which isn't unusual yes, but there were some bands where it was band members themselves that would beat up people in the audience during the concert (I think it was Human Gas that did it but I'm not sure). And speaking of Japanese punk and edgelordism, back in the '70es/'80es branding a swastika was done as part of the shock culture and anti-establishment sentiment of the original punk movement (there's a famous photo of Sid Vicious wearing one on a t-shirt, for example); of course some Japanese maniacs had to take it a notch further and named their band Sieg Heil. The song titles are also something lol.

Sorry for shitting up the metal thread with non-metal music.

More something old, 1991 Death metal classic from Master. This album had Paul Masvidal on guitar, the same year he worked on Death's "Human", this is definitely more traditional than the progressive leanings of Death.

a little more recent, Interesting 2016 doom metal from the Czech republic, one of the few metal bands to use a legit pipe organ outside of Skepticism, perhaps heresy for the metal purist.
