For the life of me, I never understood the hype with Uada. I listened to their latest, willing to give them another shot, and again it was just in one ear, out the other. Absolutely unremarkable.

I think it's just because sound kind of like Mgla but the wokes don't need to feel guilty about liking them. I only remember they exist because when the Steelfest drama was going down a couple of years ago they made a statement about how they wouldn't play either, even though they hadn't been booked for it and literally no one asked them.
 
I never understood the Uada/Mgła comparisons. Uada just play shitty meloblack. That isn't what Mgła sound like at all.

Black hoods. For some weird reason nobody compares Midnight to Mgla just bc of the hoods. Or Svartidaudi. Because both bands sound very (Svartidaudi) or completely (Midnight) different to Mgla. I remember when the first Uada album was released I listened to a preview song or so and my very first thought was "Wow. Mgla." without having any other information on the band. Very Mgla-esque riffs.

Only listened to their first album once, thought it was ok, listened a second time and already thought it's boring. Never listened to them again.

But there are worse Mgla rip off bands out there. Way worse. Like Groza.

Yeah, I saw Groza's first album being heavily promoted by AOP back when it first came out. I thought it was a fucking joke. Props to them for going as far as to name themselves after Mgła's first album, I guess. Shows they aren't hiding it.

I thought Uada's 2nd album was alright, but their first and third were mostly boring. Haven't bothered to listed to the new one, and probably won't.
