NWOTHM burnout perhaps? I think I went through something similar recently with the crossover/thrash thing. Which in my mind, was still a big resurgence, but then I have to remember it’s not 2011 anymore.
I think it's partially that and partially the amount of albums they put out in a short amount of time. I do like Mind Freeze though, solid album

I can't remember how I came across this album. Pretty out there DM with constant tempo changes and long, complex riffs. Their first album was released in 2020 and I'm wondering when their picture at Metal Archives was taken because they look like they were still in high school.

Matt pike is gone from Sleep now. These news dropped alongisde a new single and a tour announcement. Al Cisneros is in complete control of the band now I guess. I enjoy the new sound but it just doesn't sound like sleep without Matt Pike. Why not just make it another side project like OM? Who the fuck knows, probably money.

I'm vibing to "Demanufacture" album by Fear Factory. Haven't really been listening to too many of their tracks, aside from what some of the games in the 90s like Carmageddon, but i've been enjoying their music as of late. What is usually considered some of their best content?

I think the first two albums are the best by far. SOANM is very different than Demanufacture - lower tuning, growling, less clean vocals, much more natural sounding drums. Definitely closer to death metal and even grindcore in some parts. The album Concrete is an earlier version of SOANM (same compositions, different recording sessions, mixing etc.)

Any suggestions on something like Demanufacture that isn't done by Fear Factory? Really liking what they've done with it.

Saw Venom Inc yesterday which was neat. Sadly the hall was tiny and the crowd was pretty lame(including me), especially for the first band Torture Squad. Hope they don't take it personally, Dutch crowds just be like that until the beer kicks in. The heatwave probably didn't help. They played The hammer in honor of Phil Campbell which was awesome. Really missed some Venom classics like Witching Hour and Black Metal though but whatever. They did these long ass drum and guitar solos as well which I'm guessing was so Demolition Man could go have a smoke backstage. :story:
Meanwhile I've been going through some Iron Bonehead bands.
