I hate trendy contemporary deathcore that uses ridiculous and annoying vocal styles, overproduced mixing -to the point where it sounds like it's machine learning AI
Deathcore has only been popular enough for that poser shit to happen like.. twice? First time was when Winds of Plague + Suicide Silence were big and then I guess whenever Lorna Shore released into the hellfire.
And the tiktok faggots who masturbate to this shit are too stupid to know anything about metal to even question it
Well yeah.. its TikTok lol, they make a trend out of anything.
However, THIS I don't mind, this is actually good.
But what do you think of bands that started in early deathcore and grew into their own thing? Like Job for a Cowboy?
Start:
Then started turning more towards this:
And have landed here:
Through the eyes of the dead did the same thing. Started with angery anti whore music:
Came back to more standard death metal
And found their own sound, which is the best album they've made.
Personally I think NEW deathcore is better than the older stuff, because even if the older stuff was good it was more of a one trick pony ala Suicide Silence, BMTH, etc. I just think the genre really grew and expanded, with a lot of bands changing shit up and morphing into different genres that interest them. But of course, you have the Lorna Shore copiers, the bands that do gutturals just for tik toks (Netherwalker is one I think) but overall I think its been positive. Of course there's plenty of shit deathcore, probably more than other metal bands because it did find its way into the mainstream.
