But yeah fundie religious bullshit was the go-to cover for sex pest shit long before male feminists and troons were even a concept. Shit, it's not unheard of at all to still hear horror stories about fundies doing shit like forcing teen rape victims to apologize to their adult rapists in front of the entire church for "tempting" them.

Enough that they built huge institutions specifically for them to stay and pop out the kid. Though not all girls who got knocked up out of wedlock were shipped to unwed mothers homes, some tested their luck with illegal abortion and others ended up having shotgun weddings.

Shit, until pretty recently it was perfectly legally for a grown-ass adult to groom and molest a 14 year old child, impregnate her, and the worst that might happen would be he'd have to marry the child he raped in a shotgun wedding.

At least now in theory molesting children is a crime and sometimes they even send people to prison for it.

No idea but I'm sure you know as well as I do that a shitton of people were marrying and impregnating children back in the day and some pretty notorious historical figures had child brides.

I don't know about you but personally I think any level of child rape/marriage/impregnation is more than enough, too much in fact.

As for girls that got sent to unwed mothers homes, at least in Ireland it was enough that thousands of babies died at them and were tossing in mass graves or septic tanks or whatever.

even wiki talks about child marriage being common af historically, with girls being forced to marry as soon as they hit puberty in many societies.

And hell throughout most of human history it was more a way to gain resources than anything else, not a magic roadblock that prevented people from fucking like damn Dora the explorer shouting at the fox or some shit
