Plagued The Alt-Right

If it was so good, why the overthrow? Why the allegations of corruption? If the allegations of corruption were as false as an SJW claiming that an average Joe asking where the bathroom was a rapist, I assume the ones doing the propaganda were those who wanted to go back to that crappy status quo, inducing the religious nuts who eventually put Khomenei in power.

If it was so good, why the overthrow?

Because both the Communists and Islamists agreed on one thing: the Westernization, modernization and liberalization of Iran was a bad thing. They allied together to protest and launch the riots, backed with Soviet money and support as well as support from Saudi Arabia and the Muslim Brotherhood. And since the Shah was sick and didn't know how to react to this, they exploited his weakness in order to take over.

Both Communists and Islamists hate free societies where people make their own choices, and are willing to use violence to make sure everyone is oppressed into living the right way.

The commie figureheads and their followers in the Iranian revolution were the typical useful idiots, the first to get a nice wall to lean on, a blindfold and a cigarette once the overthrow was achieved. They were also the population closest to western mores, sadly. A lot of them chose exile, and represent a large part of the Iranian diaspora, along with their descendents. There was a weepy comic book released here in France, quite popular, from the perspective of a woman who lived through it as a child.

Wait, why would the Saudis, or even the Muslim Brotehrhood, back Khomeini? They're Sunni, IIRC, the last thing they would have wanted was a Shiite leader threatening their status quo, even if they hated the Shah.

From the horse(fuckers)'s mouth:

In January 1982, Umar Telmesani, then leader of the Brotherhood, told the Egyptian weekly magazine al-Msuwwar, "We supported him [Khomeini] politically, because an oppressed people had managed to get rid of an oppressive ruler and to regain their freedom, but from the doctrinal point of view, Sunnism is one thing and Shiism is another."

Basically they thought once they got a Muslim government in power it would be easier for them to spread their ideology there.

In other words, Khomeini had somehow duped the Muslim Brotherhood as much as he did the intellectuals that wanted him in the first place.

So...are you guys alt-right supporters?

No because if we were alt right people we would be writing autistic and extremely long pieces on how the Jews ruined everything and then going on rallies where about five people turn up. Then we would bitch again about how the reason nobody supports us is because of the "Dirty LIBERAL BRAINWASHING!" and then shit our pants and go back to cleaning our semi automatic weapons.

The world was different geopolitically at the time. The sunni vs shia cold war for regional dominance is the biggest issue in the MidEast right now, but it wasn't really a big concern when faced with the actual Cold War between two superpowers that could obliterate the entire planet.

I was just curious because of the Pinochet love, not because of him per se but because he's been pretty big on /pol/ lately. But it may be one of those rectangle vs square things I guess.

He's big on /pol/ because /pol/ is desperate to find a right wing dude who wasn't completely stark raving insane. I'm no fan of Mr Pinochet, but people in this thread are correct that a communist economic system would have set back Chile a long way. In /pols/ case, they love him because he killed commies and socialist and since they have a ten inch erection for reds being shot, they have to praise him.

I've been giving it a lot of though lately, what with the Alt-Right gaining a lot of traction with the rise of Trump and 2016 Presidential Election, but does anyone else think that once this SJW craziness is over, that the Alt-Right will be the next big problem group in the vein of the Religious Right and SJWs before them? Or will they always be confined to the dark corners of the internet?

Naturally. The Alt Right, especially the ones obsessed with racial politics, always thrive in times of trouble. What with the increasing backlash against the Champagne Socialists in Europe, the backlash against full blown SJWism in the US, the migrant crisis and the economic climate, now is the perfect time for them to rise once more.

HOWEVER.

It doesn't matter, because none of these morons will ever have enough support to take true power, much like the SJWs. Therefore, my advice to anyone concerned is to continue shitposting on the Kiwi Farms, archive everything and laugh at these degenerates trying to get over their butthurt that Tyrone has a better job, a larger set of genitalia and a formal education.

Pretty sure @Internet War Criminal is from /pol/, so that may be a factor.
/pol/ gets boners over every rightwing regime, because they're just mirrors of SJW armchair communists. They think that they'd live the high life they deserve under fascism, rather than "get shot and bleed out in a mass grave".

The Alt-Right will never be a mainstream thing. They will never be more than an internet thing and they will be forgotten the same way the Libertarian wave that backed Ron Paul was forgotten. Yes, even if Trump wins the Presidency. Especiallly if the wins the Presidency in fact, because then all of their illusions that Trump is in fact Daddy Hitler 2.0 are gonna crumble and they will find a reason to hate him and they will all point out how they always hated him and its so clear he was always a too

Pinochet's regime more or less willingly gave up power once they thought the apocalyptic threat of retarded intellectual "revolutionaries" was past. Not sure how you can even compare it to Iran.

If by "More or less willingly" you mean the guy was scared shitless that the UN would crack down on him for for what he did if he continued then that's exactly what he did.
