They want to feel superior to the unwashed masses ("soyboys" and "bugmen") in our current society, and they want to be accepted and taken care of (by the Big Daddy State and muh Aryan trad-waifu) in their ideal fantasy-land. Appealing to "muh race" allows them to disguise their personal desires as a fight for something bigger.

This is exemplified by the fact that most of them only have a surface-level understanding of their actual race and culture. They usually hate pretty much every facet of the West except for blonde, blue-eyed women running through wheat fields.

Well, it's simply a matter of propaganda. Unfortunately, we live in a society dominated by Total Propaganda, and jews have control of it. This is foremost in obvious reasons you don't want jews in your country. Whites are in a pathetic state right now, no doubt. But unless severe change is enacted, it will get worse and worse until eventually they will cease to exist altogether. It's a pretty straight-forward proposition to attempt to avoid such a fate for your progeny.
