The alt-right has been (stupidly) denounced by the likely next President so is automatically more important than GamerGate just by having been given importance for no reason that makes any sense to me. Why would you simultaneously motivate an enemy while giving them more prominence than they ever previously had?

It looks like the Alternative Right subreddit is the closest one could get to a proper representation of the Alt-Right.

What is the Alternative Right?

The Alt-Right, unlike the dominant ideology of the 20th Century (Liberalism/Conservatism), examines the world through a lens of realism. Rather than continue to look at the world through the ideological blinders that Liberalism imposes in its dogmatic evangelism of the Equalitarianreligion, we prefer to look & examine social relations & demographics from a perspective of what's real. Thus, racial & sexual realism is a key component of the Alt-Right - perhaps the key component that ties the diverse factions within it together.

I wonder if any of these people actually follow their own rules. For example, they project a fantasy of a brave handsome and hard-worker aryan ubermensch alone against ''degenerates'' and ''jews'', but in reality they are just some basement dwellers who chastize their own mothers because she burned the chicken tendies and they think that anything written on some blog of yours is true because they say so.
Just like Chris and his (past) idea of what is a man, he used to see himself as a manly casanova but he just was (and still is) an exceptional individual.
The more they imagine their ideal, the less they are what they want to be.

The alt-right definitely exists.

However what a lot of people (Including Hillary Clinton -- which is pissing me off since I'm already only voting for her because fuck Trump) are doing is just lumping in everybody who dares to disagree with a SJW or a SJW mentality online or elsewhere as part of it.

I've been called part of the alt right by several people. Me, a gay man who voted for Obama twice, Sanders in the primary, and will be voting for Clinton. Somebody who is wholly against the death penalty, for marriage equality, for harsh gun restrictions, legalization of most drugs, and incredibly strong social welfare programs.

But, nope, I'm alt-right. Why? Because I dare to say that the Wage Gap is a harsh distortion of reality, or that Trigger Warnings and Safe Spaces are fucking retarded coddling techniques for children in adult bodies, that video games don't cause sexism, there's no rape culture in the West (Outside of when when the few examples are covered up like in Germany), and that The Patriarchy doesn't exist.

Its almost always opposition to SJW bullshit that gets you called alt-right. Regardless of how you feel or vote on literally every other issue.

Also a lot of people accused of being alt-right are just shitposters on the internet who get off on triggering retards who have apparently somehow forgotten the #1 rule of the internet:

At the end of the day, "They're a member of the alt-right" is just the new SJW dismissive slur, since they've utterly ruined "You're sexist" or "You're racist," which really means nothing anymore due to their abuse of the accusation. Just like with those two, calling someone part of the alt-right is just what SJWs do when they dismiss anything disagreeing with them immediately without having to prove it.

I mean you see one of the most famous SJWs on this site, somehow still a moderator, doing it in this very thread. Regardless of how you feel about dumbass neo-nazis and their retarded beliefs, everybody will now be associated as those individuals because of just lazy generalizations.

And its always from the people who will IMMEDIATELY jump on any kind of generalization they disagree with. Like about the refugees in Europe, for example. Something the same moderator mentioned earlier has done many times.

I've shitposted several times on /pol/ and the only thing that ever happens is occasionally a mod will delete my thread. I won't get a warning. I won't get banned. My thread will just be deleted and things will move on. I kinda like how free /pol/ is in that regard. Mods will only ban you if they have to.
 
The "alt-right" is either run or infiltrated by the southern poverty law center.

How many elected politicians do the "alt-right" have? None. That's always a clue a supposed right wing populist or nationalist movement is enemy run or infiltrated. As far as I am aware, the "alt right" is only internet based. The SPLC of course want nationalists to just sit on the internet not doing real-world politics.

Robert Morrow is Chairman of the Travis County (Texas) Republican GOP. I'm not sure if he'd count since he doesn't support Trump, but a lot of what he says, believes, and does seems to fit what some would call "alt-right".

Also he's fun. His Twitter used to be covered in anime and he'll rate your waifu if you send him a picture of it asking.

Depends on the circles you travel in and where you're from. I have a lot of family/friends/contacts who are Carlistas: ultra-tradionalist, Catholic, Spanish monarchists. I have some Orléanistes as well (the French equivalent- fuck the Légitimistes they don't count. Who just rejects the Treaty of Utrecht?).

These reactionary supporters of royalism/aristocracy would be/are no-shit horrified by the Alt-Right.

Why?

Partly because groups like the Carlistas, to use an easy example, resent being called an ideaology. To them, being a Catholic/monarchist/unionist is "being Spanish". It literally is the national identity in their minds. Other groups are the "ones with (dangerous) ideas". Also it is because the Alt-Right are mostly fascists and nationalists- idealogies strongly aligned against traditional western reactionism because of their alleged "realism" and meritocratic, militaristic, elements. They percieve the tradionalists as effeminate and dandyish aristocrats weakened by mysticism, romanticism, and privilage they "didn't earn". Hell, fascists are literally called "blackshirts" and monarchists are called "whites". Trust me, the symbolism could not be more accurate. The Futurism of the alt-right is likewise the opposite of traditionalism's loyalty to, well, tradition. It's complicated but the Alt-Right is only reactionary in the way that Trump is a fascist- when those words are used as silly pejoratives outside their real scope. Most reactionaries regard the blackshirts and NatSocs of the Alt-Right in turn as blasphemous, barbaric, pagans, aspiring to be Romanesque political strongmen. Their distrust and disrespect of their "betters" and the Church(es) are loathed. Also they are said to smell bad.

Tl;dr they should make monarchist memes because this is all autistic bullshit vive le roi
