I don't know where to put this as this is multimedia and not much is to be said, but here it is.
Alternate Universes are a fandoms way of making something the deem as perfect canon. It ranges from making sure a character who died canonically doesn't die, pairing them with another canon character (or a self insert/oc) or just putting the characters in a random setting. There's a lot of AUs in popular fandoms.
The most types of AUs I seen from was of course Undertale. Then it went to Steven Universe (Did you know, there's SWAP AUS for this fucking fandom? You got, Pink being swapped with White, Blue or even Yellow. Or instead of Rose there's Pearl or even SPINEL!?) AUs are pretty cringeworthy at times and most of the times serve as a way for the creators to directly make something OOC in order to justify it, or commit Sholicon. An example is the FNAF Fandom where the animatronics are kids stuffed in suits. So they ship said kids with adults, and utilize the "It's an AU!" excuse.
(I bet the person would be elated to find out Rebecca Sugar drew Pearl x Greg Fanart.)
Or straight up edgy for the sake of it, might I redirect you towards the "All Hail Empress Pink Diamond AU"?
This AU is pure edge for the sake of it being edge, made Pink a dictator who rapes and took over homeworld for the lulz, a hard to read story with random characters from different fandoms, and can't even find a good reason to make Pink evil other than FOR THE SAKE OF IT. Pink also is a rip off Broly with the gauntlets. The creator, Ilikeapples commissions people to draw this AU a lot, and most of said AU has featured a lot of Rape or even incest. This was the main reason why I made this thread, as making a full LolCow Thread wouldn't be enough.
AUs of all kind can be brought here not just Steven Universe. Of course if this thread isn't suited here, you can push it elsewhere. I just wanted to talk about how absurd most of this is.
