Honestly I suspect Becky's mom was a good one. Traditional bible lover type, but honestly well intentioned. I think most of Becky's family she relies on are good over all. She's also a lesbian in a traditional area. I don't think we can really blame the immediate family for shitty parenting etc. Like wasn't her mom in some videos and seemed genuinely a nice person?

Exactly! Sounds like Becky's family had that Come-to-Jesus talk and it didn't go over well. If she chooses Amber over family that actually cares about her well being, she really is beyond help and deserves all the problems that follow. I wonder if she understands (at least on some rational level) that isolation from family and friends is exactly the goal here and it appears to be working.
