Any, really. Anything that would disrupt any or all of the things we've come to rely on in the last 50-100 years or so...supermarkets, electricity, gas, fuel etc. What is the scenario though?
*edit* I guess in many cases of apocalyptic scenarios, a clean water supply and foraging would be my main concerns. More so the latter, because foraging can’t support the levels of population we have now
Hmmm. Perhaps I would try to, but any stationary living situation restricts an individual in a survival situation. Then again, a commune of individuals is always stronger than one. If your property is especially valuable, it’s only a matter of time until another group overtakes your plot of land unless there is established control. As for foraging, that’s tricky too considering current day population, coupled with the dangers and death sentences that come with individual reliance in nature without medical intervention. I’d say crops is the way to go if you have a somewhat stable community. The lone wolf shit doesn’t work when there’s a whole society against youWould you bug-in and grow food?
Is this the one?after light
Added the option, good point, well made.Originally I said water but I'm changing it to other. Water beats food because 3 days vs 3 weeks but I'm going with "community" or whatever word you want to use but basically just some fucking home boys.
You should have some already if only because everything breaks and a lot of jobs just require multiple people.
If you want to consider the prepper/societal collapse angle of it, without some group of people backing you up you can't do anything really. If you wanted to go it alone you would need to hull up with no contact, living on your own supplies well society fell apart, shitted around for a while, developed some form of stable governing system and began the rebuilding process. Then and only then could you safely emerge from your bunker.
Even if it's just a temporary regional disaster do you really want to rely on fema to get your road passable or the cops to keep the looters away?
Onnit already, cheers bredbinIs this the one?
*edit* bro, check https://annas-archive.org/ sometime. The library is, well, literally the largest in human history
Uh. What?I hope that the next emergency in my lifetime isn't an EMP or anything else that will fuck with my lectrics. I'm solar and genny powered (12v stuff isnow!) I've gotten so reliant on it now, I'd be fucked without it. I second-guess things I've known and taken for granted for years, it's fucken weird.
Anyhoo...poo. I know none of you (unless you've lived without a flushing bog for x amount of time) have considered it. Dig a hole (easy on the move) a long drop (if you settle somewhere.
Where will you leave your shit if you're not wiping it on the walls (or throwing it at your mother figure?)
Which part are you constipated with? EMP or shit slinging?Uh. What?
Don’t mind meI'm solar and genny powered (12v stuff isnow!) I've gotten so reliant on it now, I'd be fucked without it.
Haha yeah, sorry about that. I tend to type the same way I talk. No ambiguity here lolDon’t mind meI’m wasted and was confused by some of your vernacular in that post
Any advice on starting out with 12v setups? I'd love to do microgrids like start with one room, maybe an office ran off some solar panels powering a laptop, lights and a radio. The pandemic showed a lot of us where our priorities lay, and how to wipe our own arses didn't it (figuratively and literally!)
We never considered that something like the flu epidemic would hit us. With the advances of the last 30years, 1918 seems a lot further away than it did in 1990.
Good thing about it tho, 12v stuff is coming on leaps and bounds. I would have struggled more when I was still on paraffin lamps!
