Then you blink and John’s with this weird harpy, and he’s making avant garde tuneless dogshit, and the band’s broken up, and she’s howling like a banshee over everything. Maybe you discover anime a couple decades later. Do you think there are boomers sitting in nursing homes, howling “Those goddamn nips! The Beatles' meteoric rise in the USA only really makes sense when you look at the state of American pop music at the time.

Ofc the Beatles were going to take off when their main American competition at the time was stuff like Frankie Faggi and the New Jersey Peepeepoopoo Authority.
