The Boredom Family Christmas is full of beer! Mostly Brooklyn Brewery's winter lager and black chocolate stout.

I miss the Sam Adams Winter Pack from 2011 -the Holiday Porter was terrific.

I like cheap shit.
PBR's good for me in bottles or draft, but everybody around me wants real beer money for bottle PBR so fuck that. I'll get them if I'm at a bar that does them cheap drafts. Miller High Life's a fav since cheap as fuck and bottles, but lately I've been getting the quart bottle of Corona extra.
I usually avoid cans but I saw a giant pack of Costco Generic Lite that's tempting me.

The Christmas ales have been pretty good this year too. I've had Rockin' Rudolph, OMG (Old Miserable Git), St Peter's Christmas Ale, Yule Love It and Blitzen. I also received a delightful 7.4% ale called Owd Roger for Christmas that got me nice and pissed.

Surely there are a few beer drinkers here, what brewing styles do you enjoy?

Which beers do you commonly drink?

And what is your take on Craft Beer and Microbrews?

I tend to stick to dark beers but also am experimental and will try new things,

I actually saved a few bottles during my tenure like a bottle of Founders Breakfast Stout, Rogue Sriracha Stout, and Monty Pythons Holy Grail Ale as well as a bottle of Batch 19 and a old stubby bottle of Labatt 50

My main breweries I follow are Leinenkugles, Founders, Wellington, Royal City Brewing Company and Lake Placid Brewing Company, but slowly getting into Left Hand Brewing Company. and Sawdust City Brewing Company

Sawdust City I find is pretty noticeable with Red Rocket; a Spiced coffee porter from Toronto, I usually get it when the liquor store has it.

But anyways what beers are you guys into?

Which beers do you commonly drink?
Well, I usually drink Pyramid though I prefer stouts or porters. I'd recommend their Apricot Ale, it's a good thirst quencher. Or if you're ever in a McMinamins (I think I might of butchered that name) try the Ruby Ale or Terminator Stout.
And what is your take on Craft Beer and Microbrews?
If it isn't too spendy I might pick up a bottle or two. That and I live in Oregon so I have a rather nice selection.

You have good taste. What dark beers do you prefer?

Which beers do you commonly drink?
WeiBbeirs mainly: Paulaner, SchneiderweiBe, Schofferhofer, Franziskaner (others which I remember the name of: basically anything from Bavaria)
Sometimes I drink Guinness, because it's Ireland.

Other beers which I sometimes drink are: Fischer's, Blue Moon, Hoegarten, Staropramen et. al

nd what is your take on Craft Beer and Microbrews?
I'm fine with them, however I don't drink any of them; all the microbrew/craft beers around me only make ales -- and I hate ale.

I sometimes make my own beer, but it's quite hard to get right; what with the amount of bottles you need and the difficulty in making something that doesn't give you a horrible hangover.

I mostly drink cheap shit that comes in bottles. High Life, Icehouse, those big-ass Coronas in the brown bottles.

Aldi usually has good generic beer.

I usually get Yeunging Linganiging if I'm out drinking draft.

I really like PBR (before it was cool) but the bottles cost as much as decent beer, and at decent beer price PBR isn't worth it.

I did hold on to a bottle for a Victoria. It's a nice bottle with a classy-looking screened label.

Back when I did trivia nights at Expensive Pub we'd get their during happy hour and I'd usually get a few of various interesting beers, but I don't recall what they were.

Wellington Brewery had some one shot beers like a Imperial Stout aged in Wine Barrels, it was good, it was different. I mainly stick to Coffee Porters most times, but Ontario has a poor selection of them, Mill Street Coffee Porter sucks, Wellington doesn't make one, Royal City had one that was pretty comparable to Kona Brewing Company's Pipeline Porter and Founders Breakfast Stout, Royal City's was called Oats and Joes but it was more a rotating selection, as they do the growlers

Aaaaw you Americans and your 'beer'. Come to England and have a seat on Uncle Laz's knee and he'll tell you a tale of real beer, beautiful and pure. Around here we have Adnams Brewery, Woodfordes, JoC's Norfolk Beers (Pronounced Josies, seriously if I were 20 years older I'd marry the woman!) Wolf Brewery, Humpty Dumpties (they're wierd) St Peters Brewery, Beeston Ales and Greene King.
We take our beer seriously here in England.

I've always heard the English didn't know a thing when it came to beer and that it was the Germans that knew how to brew.

Not trying to bait, being serious here.

I'm from Canada, but we also have our fair share of bad beers, ever try Molson Canadian ?

German beer is significantly different to, but no better than, British beer. Anyway the Germans can't brew for shit unless they're copying the Belgium Trappist Ales.

Us Brits never had the hang of lighter pilsner or lager-style beers, it's true. However, we are masters of darker beers. @LazarusOwenhart - the American beer ecosystem has improved dramatically in the past fifteen years or so with the rise of microbreweries, so I wouldn't condescend too hard. They're definitely learning, and getting it right more often than not. Crap like Budweiser is their equivalent of Carling, so it's not really fair to judge them on it.

As for beers that I like, Adnam's Broadside is delightful, although guarantees a headache after the second pint. Old Golden Hen is a nice, easy-to-drink and readily available go-to ale. I discovered a really nice beer called San Francisco Steam Beer while on holiday earlier in the year: only sold in stubbies insofar as I can tell, but it goes incredibly well with spicy food. Weissbiers are also nice, but can be a bit hit and miss. My wife is also into fruit beers: she's a big fan of Fruli (I think that's how its spelled).

I seem to have some bad information about the British. From what I've heard the only thing the Brits ever did right was ale.

We're the best in Europe at Ale, hands down. Also, despite the fact that Estonia brews some of Europe's best lagers, this is fucking stunning:

@Coldgrip yea we are more of a dark coloured nation, our local largers tend to be crap but I havent tried the one @LazarusOwenhart said I am going to grab a bottle from this place, they also source most beers you can think of world wide, what we don't do well in England is Spirits we take a basic vodka an dump a load of crap in it an call in Gin.
