ha, those small little kegs are alright if you can find them on deep discount. Kinda a fun novelty to bring to a party or softball game but usually even on sale it's not that great of a value.

Until two months ago, I never had hard cider, and I live in fucking apple country. I do think we should change the name of the thread to General Alcohol Thread, mainly because we probably drink other alcoholic beverages. Speaking of beer, I had a peanut butter and chocolate stout. Not gonna lie, it was pretty good. Also, Pennsylvania's alcohol laws are fucking bullshit.

If any of you niggers ever happen to find yourselves in the Netherlands get some Hertog Jan. It's a local brand and it's pretty good.

A friend of mine came over recently and we drunk our way two thirds into a crate of that shit. I don't think I'll repeat that mistake ever again.

I'm shit out of beer, and I am feeling a bit adventurous, so what kind of beer would you recommend?
 
My doctor told me to sort my fucking life out, otherwise I'd be dead by 55.

So I've been on an as close to zero carb diet as I can for a month.

I've lost over 5kg (12 lbs?) in a month, which is fucken awsome, but every time this thread pops into my alerts I haz a sad.

Anyone up for a gin with soda water and lime juice thread?

Anybody here remember when Pabst Blue Ribbon was a redneck beer and not a hipster beer? I miss those days.

PBR is one of the few beers I like (the other being Heineken) and it's very affordable, despite its popularity among hipsters.

My great-uncle loved Pabst Blue Ribbon.

Wait, it's a hipster beer? Is that a regional thing, because it's still a redneck beer where I live. Anyways, I agree, I think that PBR is one of the best light beers. I also really like the Blue Moon honey wheat beer that they have out now, which is weird because I don't like regular Blue Moon.

Hipsters get it by the bottle and vastly overpay for it and sip it like fairies. It's one of the things like mountain man beards that still somehow look prissy and skinny pants that define hipsters.

I don't know if they still do it but Buffalo Wild Wings used to have cheap PBR drafts and cheap wings and it was mostly great even for their shitass wings.

PBR is weird. They were operating out of Texas but you couldn't get PBR anywhere because they also owned Lone Star beer. PBR was only sold at a few places in Texas, but you could get Lone Star anywhere. When I've gone back to Texas in recent years, PBR is a bit more widespread.

The craft beer types who are "slumming it" or just broke at the moment tend to drink PBR back home. I prefer Lone Star, it sits on your stomach a bit heavier. Which is good for me, I like heavier beers. Plus it has awesome little puzzles under the bottle cap that you can work out when you're drunk.

Pabst APA is pretty good, but expensive for six tallboys. I'm drinking it right now.

I live in a very hipstery area and were all about the craft beers and ciders. Which is great, theres so many different ones to choose from and you're going to be supporting local business while you get hamered. And there's all sorts of weird unique flavors which is great....when they actually taste like what they're supposed to.
I was super interested in this blueberry lemonade beer https://www.ufobeer.com/beer/ufo-blueberry-lemonade/ cause, hey, that sounds awesome!
It doesn't taste like shit, it tasted like wheat and that's it. A little bitterness that could be lemon, it wasn't really hoppy. If you called it lemon pasta beer it would be accurate. So that's my beer rant today.

I'm currently enjoying DuClaw Brewing Company's Dirty Little Freak, an ale with hints of caramel, coconut, chocolate, malt, and a hoppy bite. Pretty good shit, I especially taste the chocolate going down, and I get hints of coconut and caramel when it touches my lips.
 
Recently homebrewed a Kolsch with a buddy. I found an old German recipe online and modified it a bit adding lime juice and sea salt. No idea how it's going to turn out. If it's any good though I'll certainly follow up here and talk a bit about it.
