The Beer Thread

Look what I managed to pick up boyos.

It's a basic craft lager with a bit of a pang to it, so kind of disappointing really.

Probably heresy but is anyone into Polish beer? If I'm trying to get wrecked, warka strong tastes great and works well

Poland has some good beers. Try Johannes if you can find it. Inoffensive. Think it's around 5.5 if memory serves me correct. Very cheap, but better than Zywiec.

My favorite cheap beer is Rainier, but I can't get it in my area. Otherwise PBR is King of cheap. For expensive beers, Weihenstephaner is my usual go to. Also love most Trappist Trippels. I drink a lot of craft beer, but have yet to have one that really blows my mind. Except perhaps Great Divide Claymore.

Warka is great, as is Tatra (regular, not the extra lager version. That one's disgusting). My weekly go-to is Zywiec's 1881 porter. Where I live in Queens, NYC, you can grab a 500ML for $2 or under. It's flavorful and rather strong

The 1881 Porter is excellent. I know the guy who runs the beer store I usually go to. He had eight of them sitting on the shelf six months past their sell-by date. Offered them up for $1. Best dollar I've ever spent.

Eastern European beers have always been excellent in my opinion. Baltika is another good option to try out. I also tried a Russian beer a few months ago that had a yellow bottle wrap and bear on it. Was called "Pivo", which is just Russian for beer, but it was pretty good, too.

Just had a couple of pints' worth of a local brewery's take on Belgian Saison (and some other stuff as well). Very nice beer. Pretty much impossible to go wrong with, it's one of the most pleasant beers I've had and it washed a good pulled pork sandwich down very nicely.

I think you're talking about Yarpivo, which is also mega cheap here and really good

Becks was BOGO six packs for eight bucks and change. Becks isn't anywhere near top of my list but under nine dollars for a twelve pack opens up a wide variety of beers I wouldn't normally bother with.

just a question, does most IPAs taste liks piss or i tasted shitty breweries?

Depends on the brewery and context.

Wychwood's Hobgoblin IPA is very good for instance and most IPA's are designed to be drunk in hot temperatures anyway.
