The Beer Thread

I was heartbroken when the Costco generic beer variety pack went in deep on the IPA meme.
Yeah, there's a time and place for IPAs and that's a really rich/spicy meal. If I have to drink IPA by itself it would go room temp before I finish it.

BTW I bought Weistenphaner recently, which has the cool title of being the oldest existing brewery dating back to 1040. That's a damn fine product anyone who considers themselves a beer lover should try it.

Becks was BOGO six packs for eight bucks and change. Becks isn't anywhere near top of my list but under nine dollars for a twelve pack opens up a wide variety of beers I wouldn't normally bother with.
Thats more than 2$ per bottle, you can get realy realy nice stuff for so much money.

which one? the normal Hefeweissbier from them is a very very good, the Pils is okay.
the special ones they have are Fantastic. Vitus is maybe the best beer ever made, the Festbier is Superb, Korbinian is nice and the Tradition Bayrisch Dunkel is Fantastic.
im not sure if they sell the Pils and the Helles outside Bavaria at all-

The Helles is the "Original" which is what I got as well as the Hefe. Thank you for telling me about the other beers I really want to try them as well. I used to be confused as to why the Germans would consider a meal to be Beer and Sausage, now I get it. A rich beer like what Weihenstephan makes is not only the drink but a side dish.

Twelve for $8 isn't more than two per bottle.
"BOGO six packs" means that a six pack was Buy One Get One free.

Linder's dad gave me a variety pack of real ale today, some interesting looking bottles in there.

I'm not particularly fond of IPA beer, I just can't stand the taste of it for very long

For weather that's hot as balls, a radler beer a 50/50 mix of beer and grapefruit juice is super refreshing, currently knocking back Schoefferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen beer.

I'm more of a wine cooler person can't really stand beer. So, if there is alcohol in the fridge it would be Smirnoff or I mix bourbon with other shit. Maybe angry orchard if has a good fruit flavor to it. Other than that I tend to stay away from alcohol for personal reasons.

It was late, sry. also 6 for 8 is still not over 2$ a bottle.
12 for 8 is a good price, i think its even cheaper than becks in germany( Becks is very expensive)

I love pic related. Its a little pricey, but you get 2x as much bang for your buck compared to the typical le american piss beers.
Its also the reason for my eternal beer gut ;_; 15639094454807944391541270862640.jpg

I'm a fan of red beers or michelada during hot weather but I'll have to try that.

I had one of these after weeding the garden today, and hoo boy, is she grapefruity. I really like grapefruit as a flavour, so it worked for me. It was also a little... effervescent, for lack of a better word. Not quite like champagne, but very bright.

bogo beer again!
Kona Brewing Co six packs two for ten bucks, various flavors
I got "Big Wave Golden Ale" and some lager I'll check the label of later
Very fruity taste, like pineapple or peach or something kinda tropical on the golden ale. First swig was a real shock, but now that I know about the fruity taste it's not bad. Not really tops on my lists but a nice change of pace at the price.

I really like Samuel Adam beers, only thing that turns me off from them is being canned but that's with all drinks (even non-alchy) I hate the taste of aluminum.

Oh yeah I'm a total picky cunt about cans usually too, which sucks because I like PBR and once you hit bottles it's expensive enough that it's really not worth getting PBR. I've fallen back on Sam Adamseses a few times and I don't recall being upset with them. I mostly see only bottles for that around my neck of the woods.

Unrelated I'm onto a bottle of the "Longboard Island Lager". It's a lager. They both have an oddness where they come on very strong for taste but by the time I've got a mouthful it's registering as watery. Sorta like how light beers go but not quite. Still ranking as "not bad, but not worth full price by any stretch for me".

edit- had an ale and a lager at cold enough that it bordered on a beer slushy, ale was much better like that, lager was about the same

I just get the same two over and over. Sierra Nevada and Lagunitas. Although I like to try others like Stone and Fieldwork whenever I get the chance.

I really like modelo, especially when it’s hot outside. When it’s like 100 out and I’ve got nowhere to be, I’ll grab a 12 pack and fire up the grill.
