Trashfire The BetterHelp, CreatorHealth, InfluenceLogic Rabbit Hole - Candid 2.0, brought to you by Joel Robbinson

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Was hoping someone would make a thread on this.

Makes me bummed to see these people exploiting those who may actually need help. And worse, the extreme cases are going to get turned down.

Just imagine yourself going to see a therapist, you already despise yourself and want to find a way to vent or find someone to talk to. Only for said therapist to tell you “You’re too crazy for me. Go find someone else.” That surely won’t exacerbate your state of mind and push you to do something drastic.

People like Boogie are potentially going to have blood on their hands if they haven’t already.

HIPAA (the U.S's Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) certified, yet as pointed out in Memology101's video

There is no such thing as HIPAA certification outside of (scummy) third party companies that you pay to say "oh yeah you're now HIPAA certified" or maybe at best some "Training" on HIPAA.

HIPAA isn't a standard like a ISO is. It is a mess for fucks sake under HIPAA sending PII/PHI over non-encrypted fax is allowed but if its an email it must be encrypted.

I really wonder if Defranco would ever make a video to actually discuss this issue. Unless some spergs on Reddit make a big shitshow to attract his general audience's attention, he probably will keep shilling for them.

And mark my words:
If he ever does address the situation, I'm sure that he's not going to disassociate his brand from them. He'll instead give some wishy-washy apology about it, but also try and say how he was just trying to help promote a good cause.
His video will solve nothing, and just make him look like a good guy for "addressing" the controversy.

EDIT: He's a small channel, though I'm glad to see some people other than Memeology 101 covering it.

Scumlords preying on the mentally ill is pretty low, so these BetterHelp people suck.

But most of these Youtubers aren't intentionally cruel, just ignorant. They're lazy idiots who only took a brief look at a sponsor before taking their money and shilling for them.

This was an obvious scam if someone spent time looking at their site in detail. "HIPAA certified" instead of 'Licensed and board certified' is the first tipoff.

No sane Health Insurance will approve them and the prices they charge ("Pay us $1,000+ up front for a year of 24/7 therapy!") scream scam...

If you ever used BetterHelp, I think you really really should look for professional assistance from uhhh.... A therapist in your town? Why do these motherfuckers have to never leave a computer?

To be fair, some people live in rural areas or even just smaller cities that don't have those resources as readily available - small amount of therapists with none open to new clients, patient has specific mental issues that require a more specialized approach that isn't geographically available, none around that take their insurance. Usually the issue is all of these problems at once.
So a long-distance therapist is often their best bet, when the alternative is no help at all. But there are (I assume) more legitimate routes to finding online therapists who actually talk to you and shit. This shit here is pure exploitation.

Bouts of "depression" is not depression that's just you being sad like everyone in the general population. This coupled with the scam really grinds my autistic gears with those youtubers that supported this.

True depression can be clinically defined and is a long lasting thing where, in the end, you feel "numb" and legit have thoughts of suicide due to a variety of internal and external factors. No one gets "bouts"; that shit sticks with you as an episode lasting from a month to years.

As someone who has studied and has experienced true depression, you can all take this bullshit psych 101 and suck Pavolv's cock for all I care. Fuck you for making this a thing; you all should be ashamed.

Ahem...

I once was driving 9 hours every other weekend to get my partner therapy due to childhood trauma that was specific and had no 'professionals in the area willing to assist with what had happened to her.' . I understand living in bum-fuck no where. I don't understand using a long-distance therapist about something that important because it's not geographically available. I didn't just give up because there wasn't anything in town, and if someone else does they're being naive about the internet.

Lots of fun in the websites TOS which you can give a look here -> https://www.betterhelp.com/terms/ (kind of hidden in the corner hehe) http://archive.is/0Yep8

*No guarantee your even talking to a licenced counselor

Anyone want to pay me money? Hell, why dont we start a kiwi farms therapy service? I'm quite sure with all the fucked up shit we have all seen and witness, we all probably qualify more as therapists than any of these people.
if it means forkin' over another $150/hr for the conversation, I think I'd rather have shelter.
