Best picture I could take of this little Carolina Wren hogging the feeder in my back yard after chasing off a bluebird and a cardinal I was trying to get pictures of. Asshole.

Smartphones, screened porches and asshat wrens don’t make for great pictures. 😅
 
Stressed out bird plucked out its own feathers. Such a pity. Can't say what the circumstances are that lead to this particular bird self-mutilating, but typically where I've seen it happen is with birds that are left alone in their cages in high noise/high stress environments and are not engaged with by their owners and have insufficient stress relievers provided to them. So solitary, abandoned birdies that only see people when they come by to dump food and water in their bowls and don't have enough toys.

Just remember with hummingbird feeder’s to change the water out really regularly. It ferments quickly in hot temperatures. Then the birds will avoid it, and all you will attract is wasps and ants.
