New budgie I've been raising since summer has been doing so good. He even came out and was bopping around my legs while I was napping on the couch. Comes on my hand too and lets me bring him around/scritch him.

Bites everyone else though haha

Ravens

They are such awesome birds. Highly intelligent and so many different vocalizations. I had a group that hung out in my back yard for awhile, they’d perch high up in the trees and chatter at me when I was out doing yard work. Love them.

On the topic of crows, my partner was somewhat upset upon move-in, because this place gave the impression that there are zero corvids around here. My partner wanted to befriend the corvids.

There are lots of corvids around - they're not in my neighborhood, though. We have nesting bald eagles less than 2 miles from the house, an osprey nest within 500 meters, multiple broadwing hawks, and hordes of rampaging dickbags (Northern Mockingbirds, or as we call them in this household, 'sky goblins').

The crows are smart enough to keep their distance from my region of the 'hood. They're a solid mile further down the road to avoid all the bullshit predators and assholes.

The new house is in a rural enough location that I don't see a lot of crows in the area, especially since there's at least a couple of hawks always hanging around and a pair of fucking enormous black vultures that have seemingly set up shop nearby.

The vultures in particular are really cool

Funny thing. The vultures apparently decided to nosh on some roadkill and so they just got to it while everyone was either in the other lane or drove around them. I've never seen birds so nonchalant about passing traffic.
