At least the first one was half successful. Moved some patio furniture by the place of the nest to prevent more fatal falls (and also I should have thought of that earlier).

This guy has macaws that are trained to fly free but they always come back home. You can actually train parrots to do this.

He has emus and goats too. I’m jealous.

Getting your parrot to fly is the best way for them to get exercise so they don't become obese like most pets. Although there's always the risk of them encountering a raptor.

I think doves get too much flak for their nests. Instead of seeing them as "shitty", I like to think of them as "daring". I think this bold and enterprising strategy gives them a leg up, because they can utilize nesting areas other birds can't. Do these nests sometimes fail? Yes. But that's the price of the pioneering spirit. I hope some more nest in Null's new American bunker.

I have two new brown thrashers that have taken up residence in my back yard, one adult and a young one that follows him/her around waiting to be fed (haven’t been able to get a pic yet bc they’re very shy and easily spooked.)

so here’s an old pic of the OG thrasher. The adults try to chase each other away but so far the newbies are holding their ground.

I had a nice sit on the balcony with the neighborhood family of currawongs today. One kept singing at me, and a couple were even brave enough to hop on the railing and snatch the piece of chicken I had left for them. Cheeky little fellas.
