Finally got audio of the parrot making 'pew pew' noises with the mockingbirds outside. First sound was him talking with the cardinals that sit in the tree just outside, then it was time for lazers. (And yes, he talks too, but normally only when he's whoring himself out for treats or scratches)

The "pew pew" noises just sound like one of the Cardinal calls.

It might be, but he only started making his laser noises after watching SpaceBalls and will vigorously make pew-pew noises when space battles are happening. Plus the cardinals around this house aren't very vocal except in the morning, where they don't do the full song - it attracts the blue jays, who are utter assholes and will demolish everyone and everything in their path.

I love this thread and I would heart every post if I could.

So I noticed whenever I put some sunflower chips (with a very few peanuts in the mix) in my window feeder the birds always go for the peanuts first, every time. Then I read that peanuts are higher in fat and protein, and thus better for birds than sunflower seeds. Then I found this at Walmart

which is mostly peanuts and peanut chips in nice little pieces. It’s perfect.

This crow was rescued after it fell out of the nest as a baby. Now it’s bonded with this dog, it follows the dog everywhere and they play together like 2 dogs.

Hummers are here!

Later than last year. I got a new feeder, this one has a built-in ant moat on top. I hope it works. Ants swarming all over the feeder is such a buzzkill.

Love dis bird, big ol' birb, borb got a crest, birbd great blue

(Ardea herodias)
These birds make huge nests in my area, surrounding the riverside. Big ol' cranky bitches fighting eagles to protect their young.

Other birb, grouses. I've used the Merlin app with the built in calls, and if it's mating season you can get the males to follow you around like a puppy if you play the female songs. Entertaining, but sad at the same time. "Industrial Revolution and it's consequences" but for birds

Is Apollo a great messiah or is he a fraud?
Personally the more bird the better imo.
The african grey parrot on YouTube? I'd like to believe he's truly saying "schrock" in response to rocks and Shrek to cheat the system.

For thread tax, I recently discovered that the smooth-billed Ani exists and they're very close to how I imagine dinosaurs looked.
