The show never had anything going for it beyond Starr's charisma as Homelander, (Despite everything else about the show, I think Starr has at least done a good job as a narcissistic but oddly compelling villainous version of Superman). Everyone else on the show is a grating disaster, including Urban and the face-bogged Erin Moriarty. Really a shame they've wasted Starr on a midwit show for liberal nerds, by liberal nerds like Kripke.

Kripke is a sell-out, but I think he lacks the self-awareness some sell-outs have about their status as sell-outs. A situation like that, it often just ends up with the non-aware sell-out believing he's actually a good person while raking in the money and just becoming more of a hypocrite as the days go by.

This show used to have an insufferable fanbase. But the third and fourth seasons have basically stripped away any protection from criticism that the show once had. People are now openly ripping on the horrible political angle, the endless fag nudity while covering up all female nudity, the tons of very odd male sexual assaults that the showrunners seem obsessed with throwing into the show. And then the endless stalling and resetting of the plot each season.

This show is basically into Game of Thrones or Mass Effect 3 territory. Where only a diehard small contingent of fans are defending it anymore. And everyone else is just waiting to see the ending due to sunk costs. An ending that might realistically not even happen until 2027. The writers are probably waiting for a year of Trump in office to see how they will write the ending around what happens in real life.

They are but the industry are complete pussies now, consider they didn't drop the N even once in wild wild west, a movie in the 90's where the main antagonist is a super-mega racist straight out of the civil war, but we're supposed to believe a black guy back then would lose his shit at being called "boy", its almost a compliment.

And nowadays they'll censor it anyway, they censored Kid MM saying 'nigger' in the reprint, this for a guy who skewers babies alive, but saying 'nigger' its a bridge too far now. Uber did it better:

Because let's be honest, being called a nigger was not rare at all even in the 80's, but we're supposed to believe it wasn't a thing in the mid 19th century.
 
It's not even clever or accurate. It was work, not freedom and I'm sure it won't make sense even in context.
