The Boys - An Amazon Prime adaptation of the Ennis comic series

The Liberty costume is still the best from The Boys

(Or maybe it's bc I'm starring at Beer, sure Budweiser is piss water but it's still got some alcohol in).

Gen V season 2 continues to prove why it is the WORST season in the entire boys universe.
Season 2 has Cipher, so I'm not sure I'd agree there. If there is one criticism for season 2 though it's that the swearing is more forced than ever. I know, this is The Boys (tm) but it usually feels a lot more natural than this.

The most recent episode was a bit of an improvement but the acting still feels a bit awkward to me. The plot was also very predictable and I have no idea why a fairly intelligent character like Marie didn't figure out Ciphers intentions before the other characters literally spelled it out for her.

Cipher is a character with no payoff. It was obvious he was a puppet of Godolkin. And they showed him without V in his blood and that he was not a superhero. Goldolkin. They showed Godolkin burned in the lab and then showed a burned person in a healing chamber. Everyone predicted it. Everyone except Marie and Cate for some reason.

Godolkin also must be an idiot to possess a random human instead of a powerful superhero. He could just possess someone like Sam or Marie and use their powers for himself instead. He could just posses Marie, learn her powers, and heal himself. The writing is terrible. Marie heals him without knowing his intentions. Yet won't heal Cate because she doesn't know her intentions. More bad writing. And to the surprise of no one once he's healed he begins killing and purging superheroes.

Even more idiotic is that Martie's sister, who looks ten years older than her, can see the future but doesn't predict that Godolkin is bad. And also doesn't predict that Marie will abandon them. And can't seem to predict her getting her throat slit either. Terrible writing.

The audience is so much smarter than all of the characters that it ruins the enjoyment.

It was a very predictable twist even by this genre's standards. The reveal was OK, but now we only have one episode with the guy and he'll most likely bite it now that it's clear he's on Homelander's side.

To be clear, I'm referring to the actor. He's very good at playing a slimy prick.

It's sad that no more Cipher, but at least we get Spongebob (The Godolkin actor played Spongbob on Broadway) being his homewrecker self!

(For context, Ethan Slater who plays Godolkin is a piece of shit who cheated on his wife who recently gave birth with Ariane Grande, who's also a homewrecker)

Season 4 of the Boys would like to talk to you.

The writers aren’t smart enough to be able to write smart characters.

Also, Vikor was a decent villain. The main criticism I'd have of season 2 is it feels like nothing really happens.

It's mostly setup for the final season of The Boys. Marie is going to do some blood magic on Homelander and that'll weaken him enough for someone else (most likely Butcher) to finish the job.

If I am required to watch Gen V to watch the final season of The Boys, I’m not gonna bother.

They already had those two fuckers near the end of S4 right? The blonde girl that possesses minds and the guy with superstrength?

I fucking hate crossmedia infusion like this. Let me enjoy one thing before having to waste time watching a subpar product to understand first better thing.

I think season 5 (the upcoming one) is going to be the last season of "The Boys", but there's a "The Boys Teenagers" show going on which presumably ties into the main show.
Given how faggy they made The Boys recently I dread to think what they are going to do to those poor kids.

Yeah, Cipher has no charisma and is only intimidating because his contrived plot twist powers demand it. Just a generic asshole who earns none of his moments.

Damn is this show STILL going?
It's barely halfway over. Boys season five, Gen V season three, Boys Mexico one or two seasons, Vought Origins one or two seasons, possible other spinoff. There might be an additional dozen seasons by the time they are done with the franchise. The spinoffs will outnumber the main series.

I'm out as soon as "The Boys" is finished, I'm curious to see how cringe it gets but I'm not investing any more time beyond that.

And after googling "boys mexico" I really hate the title of the show franchise.
