They didn't. The actress will return for the fifth season. Likely to reveal that she's Homelander's mother. And that he had sex with his own mother. And she's coming back for the Vought Rising prequel series. So they will want her featured in an episode or two to promote the next Boys spinoff.

I've gone back to read Herogasm now after the 17th time The Boys referenced it and my goodness is it ugly, what the fuck. This is rule 34 shit. Can't wait to be done with it. I'm on #62 of The Boys, Hughie just stated that Black Noir did something to him at Herogasm so I had to pause and go see what it is before he says it.

If Gen V is the show's version of the G-men saga then what I'm reading from this thread is very disappointing. That would be my favourite part to see done right on screen, superhero satire of Animal House and the X-men. Also I thought 5-0 and the ice guy looked awesome, and hammer hands Wolverine Groundhawk, fucking hilarious.

I mean sure, I enjoy starring at Jewish women (the actress being Jewish) as much as the next guy, but Season 3 implied that she literally killed herself because she was not getting enough affirmation from Homelander as her ubermensch incest-crush. - Nazis sexual beliefs were weird ok

I mean, part of Homelander "snapping" in that season was partly because of her suicide. Remember that one person he basically forced to jump off of a skyscraper?

That would basically be a retcon, and doesn't deal with he overarching plot of the show. Especially because Gen V1 had spongebob-homewrecker die in that season.

Yeah, all they did was imply it. They could've had Homelander tear her head off and football kick it into the horizon and I still wouldn't be surprised if they pulled some "her head survived the impact and we stitched it back on and pumped a LOT of V into her until she got better" shit. But dying of a "suicide" off screen is the most overt way of them admitting they were shelving the character in case they wanted her back later.

- Hughie mercy kills Butcher's tumor body

There's more but it's all minor stuff.

A few of these I saw coming, though the thing about tumor Butcher just sounds dumb.

To me, the perfect ending would have been to have season 4 end with the creation of a weapon based on Solder Boy's powers that can remove powers. They use it on Homelander and then he and Butcher have a fist fight until Butcher kills Homelander, and then dies from his tumor. The whole thing about the tumor being powered just seems so stupid to me.

The concept was great at first (super hero satire and capeshit mockery). Then it became what it was mocking just with a minuscule budget (despite Amazon being a trillion dollar company and this their flagship series). Now it's just a disaster like Game of Thrones and most everyone is hate watching for the trainwreck. It's also getting dozens of spinoffs like Game of Thrones as well.

I doubt that most people who watch the finale will ever re-watch this show through again like Sopranos or Wire fans looping the shows over.

I compiled them from various places. There's even a leaked screenshot of a main character's death from months back. Almost all of the leaks in the past came from people doing the subtitle work. But the last two seasons have had even the actors and actresses leak stuff. One of the actors today leaked which characters will return for Gen V season 3.

It's a great premise with lots of good ideas and things to think about behind the shock value, but the show struggles with that and instead just wants to double down on the shock value whilst making brave current year political statements like nazis bad and women good. Why does the show struggle with that? The real antagonist of the story originally is Vought, the megacorporation with it's hand in literally everything, and James Stillwell is a stand-in for the unfeeling, unsympathetic corporate identity that values nothing but the company and the profit. This story is now being handled by AMAZON.

People like this show because it's a good idea but it was destined to fail. Honestly, if you want to like the show but can't. just read the comics. They manage to be both filled with cheap shock value AND good at the same time. It's really a dystopian corporate sci-fi story, just involving superheros.

(Skip Herogasm and just read a summary, it's trash. Butcher, Baker Candlestickmaker on the other hand is essential IMO)

Same reason people kept up with the walking dead for 11 seasons, the first season was genuinely fantastic and hooked normies so hard that they were willing to sit through season after season of absolute dog shit on the slim hope of getting that hit of quality again.

The chief selling point for The Boys has always been Homelander, who in spite of all of the ways the show vilifies him, comes across as the only sane and rational character of the whole cast.
